Burial will be at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery San Andreas.

15 Year Old Samantha Roberts Returned Home & 20 Year Old Lodi Man Arrested |

Valley Springs, CA...Missing 15 year old Located in Woodbridge. Updated 5/31/18 4:47pm. Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office detectives have been conducting an extensive investigation into the reported missing 15 year old Samantha Roberts of Valley Springs. Numerous possible sightings of Samantha were received over the last few days ranging from locations in Calaveras, Sacramento and San Joaquin County. Through the investigation and interviews, detectives learned that the juvenile had possibly entered into a dating relationship with an adult male. Detectives contacted 20 year old Kevin Kasperson at his place of work in Lodi and arrested him for child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Nestled at the base of the Gold Country foothills, this new, popular festival celebrates the Good Life the miners enjoyed with their riches: Wine, Olives and Cheese. Foothill wineries, some whose grapes harken back to the Gold Rush days, will be pouring their best vintages. Cheese and Olive purveyors, several local to the area, will be offering delicious samples of their craft. Live music and a silent auction will round out the evening.

Valley Springs, CA...Updated 5/30/18 5:40pm. On 5-28-18 at about 1425 hours a Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputy took a report for a missing juvenile from a residence in the 8000 block of Baldwin Street in Valley Springs. It was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that 15 year old Samantha Roberts was last seen at her residence in Valley Springs the night before on 5-27-18 around 9:00pm. A back pack and some of Samantha’s clothing is missing as well. At the time of the initial report, Roberts was listed as a voluntary or at-will missing person and considered a possible runaway juvenile. Family and friends have shared her photograph and request to locate via social media. Since then, the Sheriff’s Office has received several reports that Samantha may have been seen accompanied by an adult Caucasian male along the Highway 4 corridor from Murphys to east of Arnold. Deputies are following up on possible sightings, including collecting video surveillance and checking known locations in the area where young adults typically frequent. At this time, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the missing 15 year old female, Samantha Roberts (pictures attached). She is described as a white female with red hair and blue eyes, height 4’11”, weight 165lbs.

Reported Sexually Transmitted Diseases Increase in Calaveras County |

San Andreas, CA...A significant increase in Calaveras County residents diagnosed with a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) in 2017 was reported by the Calaveras County Public Health Division (CCPHD). According to local health authorities, cases of gonorrhea increased from 12 cases in 2016 to 21 cases in 2017, while cases of syphilis increased from 6 to 10 during the same time period. Similar increases in STD rates were seen statewide as well. According to a report released by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), more than 300,000 cases of Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and early Syphilis were reported in 2017: a 45 percent increase compared to 5 years ago.
