San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County students in fourth through twelfth grades will showcase their scientific experiments and demonstrations at the 33nd Annual Calaveras County Science Fair on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Calaveras River Academy/Mountain Oaks School gymnasium at 150 Old Oak Road, San Andreas. The Science Fair is funded in part by a grant from the Teichert Foundation. The public is invited to explore Science Fair projects from 9-9:45am and the demonstration area throughout the morning.

San Andreas, CA – February 28, 2018 – Adverse weather conditions expected in higher elevations will affect the Calaveras Transit Blue Line. The National Weather Service is indicating blizzard like conditions from the early evening of February 28 until late evening March 3. Increased levels of snow and up to thirty-eight mile an hour winds are expected in the higher elevations.
Heavy Snow Later This Week...As a "Miracle March" Begins?

Arnold, CA....A series of cold winter storms will bring periods of heavy snow and gusty winds to the foothills and mountains of interior NorCal later this week. Snow may begin as early as Wednesday afternoon and continue through the weekend. Several feet of snowfall accumulation is expected in the mountains with up to a foot possible across some foothill locations. Portions of the northern Sacramento Valley, including Redding, may see accumulating snow Thursday night and Friday. Any planning travel across the foothills or mountains later this week should stay in touch with the latest forecasts.
Mark Twain Medical Center Awards Over $32,000 in Community Grants

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) is proud to announce the names of the several Calaveras County not-for-profit organizations that received the Dignity Heath Mark Twain Medical Center Community Grant for 2017. The hospital honored grant recipients at an awards luncheon in January. To date, more than $380,000 has been awarded to Calaveras organizations by the MTMC Community Grants Program. The Mark Twain Dignity Health Community Grants Program varies according to the size of each hospital. The project or program must be a response to the health priorities identified in the local Dignity Health hospital’s community health assessment or benefit plan, and the project to be funded must involve collaboration with a minimum of two other organizations and/or with a Dignity Health hospital in our community.

Winter Storm Warning...Heavy Snow for Foothills & Mountains this Week. Over Six Feet in Some Locations
