Valley Springs, CA...CHP is reporting a non-injury (At least to the people in vehicle) incident in a vehicle vs a black cow near Sr12 / Double Springs Rd. The roadway is clear but a tow vehicle is on scene removing the vehicle. Please use caution in the area... |

CCWD Holds The Line On Rate Increases |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Water District Board of Directors voted unanimously Wednesday March 25 to postpone a rate increase scheduled to take effect on September 1, 2015. This decision will keep monthly water rates at $56.78 and sewer rates at $86.16 instead of increasing rates to $61.89 and $90 per month respectively. The Board reached its decision after reviewing reports from staff that pushed back the planning and construction timelines of several projects that are part of the District’s Capital Renovation and Replacement (R&R) program. All of the revenue generated by rate increases in 2013 and 2014 is reserved exclusively for the Capital R&R program....

San Andreas, CA...The Motherlode Interagency Training Officers Association in cooperation with the San Andreas Fire Protection District will be conducting a training burn in your neighborhood. This is to inform you, there will be a live fire safety training exercise of a Structure on the property located at: 236 Treat Ave, San Andreas. The date for the training is April 11, 2015 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This type of training is essential to providing this community with well-trained firefighters. The exercise will allow our personnel a chance to enhance their skills in suppression activities and to work safely in a controlled environment for future fire and life safety needs...

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Connie Sullivan, 53 From San Andreas lost her life in an accident near Mokelumne Hill. The accident occurred at approximately 3:15pm and Sullivan was driving her 1991 Dodge in the southbound traffic lane of SR-49 at an unknown speed when, for an unknown reason, she allowed her vehicle to travel to the right and off the paved portion of the roadway. The Dodge traveled down the steep embankment and overturned. After the collision, it came to rest on its roof facing in an Easterly direction off the roadway, and down the embankment...

Rail Road Flat, CA...On 03/23/15 at about 2108hrs, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department responded to Lakeside Mobile Home Park, in Rail Road Flat, for a reported stabbing. The victim was a 19 year old male who sustained multiple stab wounds on his chest, back, and side. The victim was conscious and alert upon deputies’ arrival.
