The Calaveras Council of Governments (CCOG) is soliciting applications for appointment to the Stakeholder Advisory Committee for the San Andreas SR 49 Commercial Gateway Corridor Study. San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Job & Career Resource Fair on March 10, 2016 from 4PM till 8PM at the San Andreas Town Hall located at 24 Church Hill Street in San Andreas. This event will be hosted and attended by San Joaquin Delta College and Columbia College. The Job & Career Resource Fair will offer individuals the opportunity to meet with employers offering full and part time positions and a chance to learn about what it takes to enter specific career fields. “Table Talk” Sessions will also be available, addressing topics such as resume building, best interviewing practices, and tips on customer service.
Flood Watch Issued For Areas Including Calaveras County From Late Tonight Through Sunday Afternoon

San Andreas, CA...National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a flood watch for a portion of Northern California including Calaveras County from late tonight through Sunday afternoon. Saturated soils and swollen small creeks and streams from recent rains have primed the area for potential flooding with the approaching storms. A series of storms will bring the potential for widespread nuisance flooding to low lying areas, ponding of water on roadways, and flooding of streams and creeks.

Wilseyville, CA...Dr. Dale Miller Paar, more commonly known as Doc, was born on August 20, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri. In 1970, he joined the United States Navy at 18 years old; he worked as a Navy Corpsman, stationed with the Marines in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1973.

San Andreas, CA...It is a busy day for the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors. One of the highlights will be a presentation by the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Team on the potential Calaveras Business Resource Center. Some of the other items on the agenda are: Mental Illnesses, Fair Contract, Assessor Roll Exemptions, Resource Conservation District, Tree Mortality and much more. The closed session gets underway at 8am and the open session with the always exciting public comment section gets underway at 9am

San Andreas, CA...For the first time, the public is invited to a free preview of Calaveras County Science Fair projects and demonstrations on Friday, March 11, 7-8pm, in the Calaveras River Academy gymnasium at 150 Old Oak Road, San Andreas. Parents, friends, and science fans can explore the fair and enjoy refreshments as well as demonstrations by the Bret Harte Robotics Club. More than 64 students across the county are participating in the 31st Annual Countywide Science Fair on Saturday, March 12, 2016. This year, the Science Fair will be divided into competitive and demonstration projects.

San Andreas, CA...Richard Louis Cuneo, born on 12/30/1933 in Lodi, California has passed away at 82 of natural causes. He was an Air Force Airman Basic 1953-1957. Some of his awards were an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal ARFC 28May56. He was also an Installer Cabelman/Shoe repairman for the Youth Authority in Stockton and liked Hiking/Exploring..
