$5,000 Reward Offered for Arrest & Conviction of Wanted Subject Jimmy Blake Terry

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is facilitating the offer of a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of wanted subject, Jimmy Blake Terry. Earlier this week the Sheriff’s Office announced that Jimmy Blake Terry is currently listed as Calaveras County Most Wanted in connection to a recent burglary and vehicle pursuit in the Arnold area. Terry also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest from both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. A private anonymous party has donated the $5,000 reward to the Friends of the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office, which is a nonprofit group that supports the Sheriff’s Office programs, projects and equipment.

Valley Springs, CA...On 01-10-18 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for an illegal unregistered indoor marijuana grow at a residence in the 8000 block of Baldwin Street in Valley Springs. Deputies found that the entire house had been converted for marijuana cultivation. 1,447 marijuana plants were seized and two subjects arrested.

San Andreas, CA...During the Special Meeting on cannabis held yesterday, January 10, 2018, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors adopted a ban ordinance on the cultivation and commerce of cannabis within the County’s unincorporated areas. The ordinance limits the cultivation of cannabis for commercial and medical use to the limits imposed by California State law, which includes cultivating no more than six live cannabis plants per residence. Any cannabis grown within the legal limits of California law must be screened from public view and secured with child resistant locks.

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County Public Health Division is monitoring influenza activity throughout our community. Though activity in Calaveras County has not yet increased, activity in California is widespread and at levels usually seen at the peak of the influenza season. Health officials encourage Californians to get vaccinated.

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors are back in action on January 10th to conduct a Public Hearing to adopt an Ordinance rescinding Chapter 17.95 and replacing it with a new Chapter 17.95 banning or regulating cannabis cultivation and related commercial activities; certify Environmental Impact Report and adopt Findings of Fact; adopt the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan; or find that adoption of the ordinance is exempt from CEQA pursuant to Sec. 26055(h) of the Business and Professions Code.
