Marijuana Eradication in Burson Leads To Arrest

Burson, CA) On 06/02/2017 at approximately 9:45 AM Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies served a search warrant on a property located in the 3800 block of Dickenson Court in Burson. In late May, Deputies identified the property as a marijuana growing operation. During the investigation it was discovered that the location was an unregistered and illegal marijuana grow.

(Live Streaming Now) ...Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Study Session On Cannabis Resumes This Morning

San Andreas, CA...(Quick summary....The Board will now review and absorb comments from the study session. The next special meeting on this issue is tentatively to be scheduled for June 20th.) After a closed session for labor negotiations the Board will resume the Cannabis Study session from last week. The study session is scheduled to resume at 10am. This study session is designed to allow the Board of Supervisors, County Departments and Calaveras County residents an opportunity to hear about and discuss the County’s current abatement efforts of illegal cannabis grows, the proposed ban of the cultivation of recreational cannabis in the County and alternatives to a complete ban. Major Injuries To Valley Springs Man When His Suzuki GSX Goes Down On Hwy 26

Valley Springs, CA...A 56 year ols Valley Springs man was riding his 2001 Suzuki GSX behind a slower moving vehicle. As they reached a passing area, he began to pass the vehicle. However he did not allow for sufficient passing room and to avoid an approaching vehicle he veered to the left & running off the north roadway edge.

Tragic DUI Golf Cart Accident Leads To Death Of San Jose Woman

Valley Springs, CA...Richard Clarke, 57 from San Jose was driving a golf cart while intoxicated through a private olive orchard. As he approached the end of the orchard he made aleft turn. His passenger Debra Bedard, 58 from San Jose was holding two wine glasses and was unable to stabilize herself as he made the turn and fell out of the golf cart.

CCSO Looking For Citizens Who Took The Citizens From Firefall Jewelers

Valley Springs, CA...On 05/30/17 at about 5:40 AM, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to Firefall Jewelers in Valley Springs for a commercial burglary. Once on scene, Deputies observed damage to the front door of the business. A search was conducted of the interior of the store; however, no suspects were located. Deputies reviewed video surveillance and observed two male subjects forcibly enter the business. The suspects took over fifty Citizen Brand watches and other miscellaneous gold and silver jewelry, amounting to over $14,500 in loss of merchandise. Photos of the subjects are enclosed...

Board of Supervisors Summary Publication

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance to amend Section 15.06.032 and Section 15.06.041 of Chapter 15.06, Flood Damage Prevention of the Calaveras County Code. Section 15.06.032 is revised to include reference to the use of Base Flood Elevations from the Atkins Study as Best Available Data. Section 15.06.041 is revised to identify the Planning Director as the FEMA Floodplain Administrator for Calaveras County. The full text of this Ordinance amendment is available at the Planning Department and at the office of the Clerk of the Board, Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA.
