Threatening Email Sent to Calaveras County Office of Education

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) that a generalized emailed bomb threat was received today by CCOE staff. The Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the email threat that did not mention a specific school or school district. The following message is being sent to parents/students from CCOE:
Prescribed Fuels Reduction Burn Outside of West Point on May 8 & 9

West Point, CA...The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is conducting a prescribed burning operation on the Winton Vegetation Management Program (VMP) site, (6 miles east of West Point on Lilly Gap road). This prescribed burn is designed to reduce fuels on the VMP in conjunction with CAL FIRE employees and Cooperators.

San Andreas, CA...Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 8:00 AM the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will require burning permits within State Responsibility Areas of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus County and Eastern San Joaquin County. Burn hours will not be restricted; however, a transition to night time burning may occur as conditions change.
