San Andreas, CA..At 1:46 am this morning, San Andreas CHP Officers were dispatched to a call of a red Ford Mustang that was doing “donuts” on the baseball field of San Andreas Elementary School. Prior to our Officers arriving on scene the vehicle fled the area.

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Acclaimed performance by actor Lee Stetson fun for all. The Foothill Conservancy is hosting critically acclaimed actor Lee Stetson portraying the renowned Yosemite naturalist John Muir on Saturday February 3, at 7:00 p.m. The performance will be in the historic Mokelumne Hill Town Hall at 8283 Main Street. Tickets are on sale now. “We are excited to have Lee return to our area to perform “John Muir is back -- and man, is he ticked off,” said Foothill Conservancy Executive Director Amanda Nelson. “Muir’s life was extraordinary, and Lee’s portrayal of Muir is an intimate sharing of the humor, intelligence and tremendous passion of one of the world’s best-known and admired naturalists.”

Mark Twain Medical Center and Soroptimist KICK OFF American Heart Month by Offering FREE Cholesterol Tests During February |

San Andreas, CA...As part of a continuing partnership with Soroptimist International of Calaveras County, Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) will be offering FREE cholesterol tests for women in Calaveras County during American Heart Month in February. This FREE screening is also known as a lipid panel. The test measures good and bad cholesterol and triglycerides helping to identify women at greater risk of heart disease and stroke. The “Take It to Heart Program” offers the free cholesterol tests throughout February to women who live in Calaveras County. A 12 hour fast is recommended or no food after midnight, as is proof of Calaveras County residency. Women needing the FREE cholesterol screenings do not need to schedule an appointment.

Glenn Hodson Devoted Family Man Passes Away at 78 |

Mountain Ranch, CA...Glenn Hodson Devoted family man. Glenn Hodson died Jan. 20, 2018 in Sacramento, CA. after years of heart problems. He was 78 years old. He was born June 10, 1939 in Fresno, CA. to Marjorie and Glen Hodson. Glenn served in the U.S. Navy as a Radarman on the U.S.S. Oriskany from 1957 to 1961. He then served 2 more years in the Navy Reserves from 1961 to 1963. When Glenn got out of the service he moved to Sacramento where he met his wife, Cecilia (Patty) Delaney. He was a truck driver there for many years before moving to Mountain Ranch.

Drug and Resisting Arrest Charges for Valley Springs Man |

Valley Springs, CA...On 1-23-18 at about 0015 hours, two Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies recognized a subject with outstanding warrants at a gas station in Valley Springs. Joshua Peabody (age 31 of Valley Springs) was contacted by the deputies after dispatch confirmed four outstanding warrants for Peabody’s arrest from Calaveras, Amador and Tuolumne Counties. Deputies informed Peabody he was under arrest at which time he attempted to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit and jumping over a fence, Peabody was apprehended by the deputies.
