San Andreas, CA...On May 6, 2019 at about 8:15AM Calaveras County Deputies responded to the 200 block of West Saint Charles St in San Andreas for report of a physical fight. During the investigation deputies discovered David Knaak (age 40 San Andreas) physically assaulted a juvenile and attempted to strike another juvenile with his vehicle. One juvenile was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries suffered from Knaak. Knaak left the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival however, he was later arrested without incident at his residence.

San Andreas, CA...On Saturday May 4, 2019 at about 5:00PM, The Sheriff’s Office activated their Search and Rescue Team after they received a request for assistance at Candy Rock recreation area (Hathaway Pines). Four people had swam across the North Fork of the Stanislaus River after hiking down the Candy Rock trailhead. When the water level of the river rose, three of the four were unable to swim back across. The fourth was able to swim across and call for help.
