Eight New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Calaveras County Calaveras County, Health Officer Urges People to Slow the Spread

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/30/2020 05:45 PM
San Andreas, CA...Calaveras Public Health is seeing an alarming and accelerating trend of community spread in the County. On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, Calaveras Public Health reported eight additional cases of COVID-19. This is the single largest one-day case count in the County since the pandemic began. “What we are seeing in Calaveras County is the beginning of a significant outbreak of COVID-19 in several regions of our community. Widespread community transmission is now taking place in the Valley Springs area, and other locations are also reporting increasing disease activity,” said Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer. “If things continue at this rate, we are in very serious risk of overwhelming our local hospital and limited ICU capacity.”

Vallecito, CA...On June 26, 2020, Calaveras County Probation Officers requested assistance from the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division regarding illegal narcotics and other suspicious items. The items were located while conducting a routine probation search at a residence in the 3000 block of Juniper Drive in Vallecito. The subject of the search was probationer Brandy Felts-Patelzick. Deputies arrived at the residence and located methamphetamine, paraphernalia, cash, and evidence of illegal sales of controlled substances. Brandy Felts-Patelzick was not located at the residence; however, she was located in her vehicle in Valley Springs shortly thereafter. Investigators responded to the location of the car and conducted a search of the vehicle. Deputies located more methamphetamine, paraphernalia, cash, and heroin. During the investigation, Felts-Patelzick’s storage unit was also searched. Inside the unit, Deputies discovered additional evidence of drug use and sales.

Sender's Market's Weekly Ad & Grocery Specials Through June 30th

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/28/2020 12:06 PM
Mountain Ranch, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you've got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered.

Upper Hwy 4 & Valley Springs Home to Three New Cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County.

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/26/2020 02:45 PM
San Andreas, CA...On Friday, June 26, 2020, Calaveras Public Health reported three additional cases of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. The three unrelated cases include one adult male and one adult female between the ages of 18 to 49 years old, and an adult male between the ages of 50-64. Two cases reside in the Valley Springs area and the third case resides along the Upper Highway 4 corridor. The source of exposure for each case is being investigated. “We are at an important moment in Calaveras County and across California as businesses and public spaces have reopened. As more people leave their homes, their risk of exposure and infection to COVID-19 increases. We all need to continue to do our part to keep Calaveras safe and healthy for everyone. That means following simple prevention methods such as keeping a safe distance from others when you leave your home and wearing a face covering,” said Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer.
