Sender's Market's Ace Hardware January Red Hot Buys! Shop Local & Save! |

Mountain Ranch & Valley Springs, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you've got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered. Click on images below for larger versions

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/16/2021 12:11 AM

Angels Camp, CA...2020 has been devastating to many in our county, in our country and throughout the world. Calaveras County residents have experienced job loss, homelessness, shortages of food, needed supplies and personal protective equipment, business shutdowns or partial closures, and sheltering in place for months as we all continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as our county has gone through so much, we at the Calaveras Community Foundation are impressed by the resourcefulness and spirit the Calaveras community has shown and by how individuals and groups step up to serve in this and every crisis we have faced. We are honored to use the resources our donors have entrusted us with to help various non-profit groups in our county respond to the pandemic, as summarized in this letter from our president.

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras Public Health Launches New COVID-19 Dashboard - Announces Partnership with Mark Twain Medical Center to Vaccinate People 65 and Older in Efforts to Expand Vaccine Rollout Calaveras Public Health announces the launch of a new COVID-19 dashboard. The interactive dashboard provides the community with local COVID-19 information. It will help minimize the discrepancy that existed between the number of COVID-19 cases reported by Calaveras Public Health and those reported by the state. As a result, the public should expect a large number of cases to be reported in today’s count that will continue until it is resolved. Due to this change, the case count will be approximate and may change or even decrease due to duplicates, incorrect addresses, or individuals found not to reside within Calaveras County. The dashboard replaces the weekly press releases and COVID-19 infographic. It will be updated daily, Monday-Friday, except on holidays.
