Arnold, CA...On Saturday, April 21, 2018 The Arnold Library Presents Novelist and Clive Cussler co-author from 1-3pm at the Ebbetts Pass Fire District Meeting Room. Robin Burcell spent nearly three decades working in law enforcement as a police officer, hostage negotiator, criminal investigator and FBI Academy-trained forensic artist. Burcell currently co-writes with international best-selling author Clive Cussler on the Fargo series. Pirate, their first co-written book, was released in 2016. The Romanov Ransom, next in that series, will be out September 12, 2017.

Students, Educators and Supporters to Take Part in National Day of Action Against Gun Violence in Schools |

Burlingame, CA...California Teachers Association members and leaders joined by elected officials and community supporters will take part in multiple statewide events on Friday, April 20, demanding that action be taken to end the school shootings that have been devastating American schools. The National Day of Action Against Gun Violence in Schools, organized by the Network for Public Education, CTA and the National Education Association on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school massacre, sends a strong, unified message to politicians urging them to take measures to address safety indefinitely.

Calaveras High School Drama will be Presenting "Cinderella" April 26-29 |

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras High School Drama is delighted to present Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella," the first full-length musical to take the stage at the Calaveras Performing Arts Center in over three years. The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits. Jillian Zahniser appears as the title character, Jared Bisbikis is Prince Topher, Madalyn Myers is Crazy Marie, Brooke Wooldridge is Madame, Jacob Young is Sebastian, Madeleine Hedger is Charlotte, Amaya Halepota is Gabrielle, Jordan Hoyopatubbi is Jean-Michel, and Colton Minehart is Lord Pinkleton. The ensemble includes Anthony Barci, Macy Liotta, Talina Landry, Samantha Leach, Ramon Marquez, Kathryn Frazier, Cleo Osgood, Kyra Allemand, Timothy Kelly, Marco Ortega, and Irene Melendez. Ann Mazzaferro directs, with Mason Anderson as Stage Manager and Cyndie Klorer as Technical Director.

Another Threatening Email Sent to Schools Likely a Hoax |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Mark Twain School District that another threatening email had been received last night by district staff. Although the Sheriff’s Office, treats and investigates every threat seriously and independently; the FBI has already sent notification to local law enforcement that this latest email is likely a hoax from the same group that sent emails on Monday 4-9-18.
