Chesnut of Columbia College will hold office hours on Thursday, February 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mother Lode Job Training Calaveras Office located at 700 Mountain Ranch Road, Ste. A in San Andreas. Columbia College will host additional office hours on Thursday, March 6 and Thursday, April 10. The purpose of the monthly office hours is to meet Calaveras residents who are new or potential of Columbia College students. Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D, Senior Fellow of the Child Trauma Academy, a not-for-profit organization based in Houston, TX, and adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Finberg School of Medicine, will present a day-long workshop entitled “Understanding Childhood Trauma-Creating a Trauma-Informed Community,” Friday, February 21, 2014, 8:15 am – 4:15 pm at the San Andreas Community Town Hall, 24 Church Street in San Andreas. CUSD Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrollment Packets Available February 7th.

San Andreas, CA....Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program. (The first year being Transitional Kindergarten and the second year a more traditional Kindergarten program.) Students may enroll in a Transitional Kindergarten program if they are five years old on September 2 through December 2. Children must be five years old prior to September 2 to enroll in traditional Kindergarten. Parents and guardians may optionally enroll their age-eligible child in a Transitional Kindergarten program. Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten enrollment packets will be available at Calaveras Unified School District elementary schools beginning February 7, 2014 . The deadline for returning the packets is March 7, 2014. If you have any questions, please call the school....
