Calaveras County, CA...Dr. Dean Kelaita, Health Officer, is urging Calaveras County Residents to get vaccinated against influenza (the flu) as soon as possible. Localized flu activity has already been reported in 1 California County, where an elderly person has died due to flu-related complications.

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Health Care District (MTHCD) and Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation will host the fourth annual “Golden Health Awards" at Mark Twain Medical Center on February 8, 2017. The Golden Health Award was established in 2013 to recognize and award selected health care organizations and individuals who have made a positive impact to the health and wellness of the Calaveras County community. Health care professionals selected for nomination are chosen from Community Health Based 501 (c)(3 Organizations, Public Health Programs, and Behavioral Health Programs that operate in Calaveras County. Agencies or Organizations that operate in multiple counties are eligible for nomination, however funds received as an award or grant must be used in Calaveras County to promote the health and wellness of the community.

San Andreas, CA..."It was brought to my attention there is a mailer out there for "Yes on measure D" with my name and a couple of quotes from me and the Sheriff’s Office Star, it would appear I am in support of measure D. To be very clear, I did NOT AUTHORIZE them to use my name or the Sheriff’s star and I am VOTE NO on Measure D. Measure D is bad for our county."

Dallas, TX and New York City, NY...AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX) today announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which AT&T will acquire Time Warner in a stock-and-cash transaction valued at $107.50 per share. The agreement has been approved unanimously by the boards of directors of both companies.

As we speak they are installing the new Panda Carpet for this season. They are also rolling out the red carpet for all new hires for this year. They have been busy in the off season making loads of improvements to the hill and facilities. The aforementioned Panda Carpet replacement, New Snowcats, New Snowmaking equipment & one big improvement for those needing to stay connected on the slopes is a completely new wireless internet system with a new fiber optic connection to the resort. Sonora, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce a new schedule for the Project HOPE Health Van. Beginning Tuesday, November 1, the Health Van will be available in the Walmart parking lot, located at 1101 Sanguinetti Road in Sonora, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except holidays. On the second Tuesday of each month, the Health Van will be available at Interfaith, located at 18500 Striker Court in Sonora, rather than Walmart.
