Bear Valley, CA...In the winter we open the Meadow Cafe located 350 yards from the trailhead. Skiers, snowshoers, and pedestrians access the cafe on groomed trails and enjoy “alpine cuisine” on the deck or cozy indoor seating. New for the 2019/2020 winter season, a special Après-Ski menu is served Thursday through Saturday from 3:30-6:30pm.

Washington, DC...Thank you very much, everyone. Thank you. Thank you. A beautiful day in the Rose Garden. Appreciate everybody being here. Today, I’d like to provide an update to the American people on several decisive new actions we’re taking in our very vigilant effort to combat and ultimately defeat the coronavirus. We’ve been working very hard on this. We’ve made tremendous progress. When you compare what we’ve done to other areas of the world, it’s pretty incredible. A lot of that had to do with the early designation and the closing of the borders.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Is everyone ready for some epic pow riding this weekend and into next week? The high today ahead of the approaching storm will be around 47F with NE winds into the teens. The oncoming system has surely taken a more intense precipitation value in the last 12hr model runs. Things look to pick up tonight as a warm front moves over the area bringing a mix of precipitation by 11pm then turning to snow as the colder air behind the front starts to effect the elevations. 2-4″ is expected tonight with 6-10″ slated for Saturday, 10-14″ Saturday night, 10-14″ Sunday, 9-13″ Sunday night and another 6-10″ come Monday! Snowfall elevations could reach down to 2500′. That’s 43-65″ by Monday….followed by snow shower activity all week long. Stay tuned and I’ll give all ya’ll some more 411 as we get closer. It’s a great time to ski/ride as conditions around the resort are really good. Don’t forget to check out our Lifts and Trails page Daily for projected operations. Angels Camp, CA...We're sad to announce that the Calaveras County Arts Council has cancelled the March 15 concert The Diamonds at the Bret Harte Performing Arts Center in Angels Camp. The State of California Department of Health recommends cancelling public events to prevent the spread of the Corona (Covid-19) virus, and the Bret Harte School District has closed the theater until April.

Arnold, CA...Can U.S. Citizens come home early? YES, there is a waiver for free changes. This is based on airline availability. Will travelers be put into quarantine upon arrival/return? As of the latest news, no . Only if they are returning from Level 3 Territories. How long will the European ban last? 30 days. When does this start? As of March 13 at 12:00 a.m. Can travelers still travel to Europe as a U.S. Citizen? Yes Can travelers refund their tickets? If their originally scheduled flight is canceled, there may be an opportunity to get a full refund. Most airlines are still processing free changes. Non-refundable tickets are still non-refundable. The travel ban applies to E.U. Citizens and not U.S. Citizens

The following is from Disney..."While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at Disneyland Resort, after carefully reviewing the guidelines of the Governor of California’s executive order and in the best interest of our guests and employees, we are proceeding with the closure of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, beginning the morning of March 14 through the end of the month.
San Andreas, CA...Late last night, the California Department of Public Health, recommended the cancellation of any public events that are expected to have more than 250 people in attendance. Even if the figures for attendance are projected to be below that number, they recommend implementing social distancing and having at least six feet of space between participants at all times.
