San Andreas, CA....A Pearl Harbor Remembrance will be held at VFW Post 2600 on Tuesday, December 13th at 6:00 p.m. Dinner featuring Pork Loin Roast & Scalloped Potatoes will follow. Cost for dinner is $15.00 each, $14.00 for Veterans and Free for World War II Veterans. Please call the VFW Post at 209-754-3916 to make your dinner reservations by Saturday December 10th.

Studio 4 Dance Theater Presents “The Holiday Showcase 2022” at the Bret Harte Theater |

Angels Camp, CA...A Festive Array of Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary Dances, Including Beloved Traditional Nutcracker Pieces December 15-17th”. Dancers from Studio 4 School of Dance will showcase their dance talent and various dance styles at the Holiday Showcase 2022. This year’s production dance styles will include jazz, contemporary, hip hop and ballet. Studio 4 School of Dance (S4SD) and Studio 4 Dance Theater (S4DT) have a long history in Calaveras County of offering the community a glorious holiday production. In 2019, S4DT presented their 11th Annual “The Nutcracker”. This December, the community will once again be able to enjoy select Nutcracker pieces at the Holiday Showcase 2022.

San Andreas, CA...Caltrans District 10 and Clean California are partnering with Calaveras County to hold a series of FREE Dump Day events for area residents. The third event will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Calaveras County Government Center, located at 891 Mountain Ranch Rd, San Andreas, CA 95249. This Free Dump Day event will accept tires without rims, appliances, and mattresses. The Clean California program is encouraging responsible trash-handling practices and disposing of waste materials safely and properly.

Reps. McClintock & LaMalfa Celebrate Promotion of Colonel Bud Anderson to Brigadier General in USAF |

Auburn, CA...Colonel Clarence (Bud) E. Anderson of Auburn, California, received an honorary promotion to the grade of Brigadier General in the United States Air Force. General Anderson was decorated 25 times during his 30-year military service including two Legions of Merit, Bronze Star, five Distinguished Flying Crosses, the French Legion of Honor and the French Croix de Guerre and is WWII ‘Triple ACE’ fighter pilot. General Anderson flew 116 combat missions with the 357th Fighter Group when he destroyed more than 16 enemy aircrafts in aerial combat over Europe. He also served in combat in the Vietnam War, where he commanded the 355th Tactical Fighter Wing. General Anderson is well regarded as a test pilot, member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame, and recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal for American Fighter ACE’s. Despite retiring from the Air Force in 1972, General Anderson has remained devoted to aviation, has become a published author, and is a sought-out guest speaker.

Angels Camp, CA...Due to the forecast of extreme inclement weather on Saturday, December 10th, we have been advised to postpone the parade until Saturday December 17th. Both heavy rains and high winds are expected, creating an unsafe condition for parade participants and parade attendees.

Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation's Lights of Love Tree 2022 |

San Andreas, CA...Our Lights of Love program provides the community a way to remember family and friends who have passed away and honor those who continue to be an important part of Calaveras County. A Video of Remembrance On December 1st, we presented a video showcase of remembrance and a virtual tree lighting on the Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation's Facebook page. Our traditional in-person Lights of Love Tree lighting event outdoors was cancelled due to inclement weather.
