The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance Announces a Local Art Competition Showcasing the Spirit of Murphys Grape Stomp and Harvest

Murphys, CA...The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance is launching the first ever poster art contest to celebrate our 26th anniversary as well as the newly branded “Murphys Grape Stomp and Harvest Festival”. Produced by the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance, Murphys Grape Stomp has been one of the regions most popular events enjoyed by generations of local residence and visitors alike who attend year after year to compete in California’s oldest, largest grape stomp competition. This year, the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance will be adding more harvest related activities and events to give people an immersive look into the Sierra Foothills harvest season and winemaking processes by celebrating all things grape harvest with vineyard tours, live music in the park, harvest cooking demonstrations, games, wine activities and more.

Murphys, CA...Now with over 20 million albums sold into their career, there can be no doubt as to why The B-52s remain one of rock music’s most beloved and enduring bands. As the B-52s continue to celebrate their 40th Anniversary, the band announced a world-wide tour today that is expected to cover more than 10 countries and will include a headlining North American summer tour. The 40+ city tour will kick off May 4 in West Palm Beach, FL at Sunfest and finishes in New York City on September 24 at Summer Stage in Central Park. Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown USA)..The Friends of Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, in partnership with the Junior Livestock Committee, will host their annual Whiskerino Dinner Dance on Saturday April 6 at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds at 6:00pm. San Andreas, CA...We are holding KWC qualifiers at The Metropolitan starting April 6th. Registration starts at 6 pm. Contest starts at 7 pm. Contest will last from 1 hour to 2 hours depending on turnout. $15 registration fee, cash only. The venue takes cards for food and beverages but the fee will be by cash only. 21+ only for contest but all ages welcome. First 20 singer’s signed up will participate. Depending on timing, we may allow more singer’s at our discretion but with no guarantees. Open karaoke will start once the contest is over. We will also get singers who are not in the contest up to sing before the contest starts, if time allows.
