Your Pure Mountain Fun Awaits at Bear Valley!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/18/2022 10:27 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We broke our all time December record for snowfall on Dec 29th at 8am with the new record being 161″. Mattly’s weather forecast for Tuesday. A mostly sunny day is ahead with the high coming in around 37F with East winds in the single digits. Continued sunny skies and dry conditions look to stick around for the remainder of the month. This mornings model runs show and better formation of a stronger pacific undercutting pattern developing around the end of the month as the GFS and Euro runs align. Yesterday this looked weak at best yet this morning things have progressed into a more promising weather pattern around the 28th or so. An AR event during that phase looks promising so keep your fingers crossed, do your snow dances and all else that conjures up Uhlr and his influence on snowfall. Stay tuned!

Hey Good People!!! Perfect Conditions and Full Upper & Lower Mountain Open for Your Pure Mountain Fun!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/14/2022 09:07 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We broke our all time December record for snowfall on Dec 29th at 8am with the new record being 161″. Mattly’s weather forecast for Friday. Have I mentioned that the whole lower Mountain will come online today? The village side of the mountain is not too far behind either. What a difference a day makes! This mornings 5am post shows snow survey at 30F, a whopping 15F cooler than yesterday at the same time. With surface gradient influence coupled with the Low over the Great Basin winds look to increase today with average speeds in the upper 20’s and gusting into the mid to upper 30’s. The suggested 38F for the high today will most likely feel way cooler as the winds will influence the daytime temps. Saturday will bring warming temps with the high back around 43F and that looks to continue into the MLK weekend as well. So for now, the dry weather pattern continues for the next 10 days and the hope that the MJO circles back around and helps influence more snowfall come the beginning of February. Winter is far from over Good People and the fact I just bought a new pair of Black Crows Nocta’s means we’ll be shredding pow again in the not so distant future. Stay tuned!

Hey Good People!! Great Conditions & Your Pure Mountain Fun Awaits at Bear Valley!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/12/2022 01:30 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We broke our all time December record for snowfall on Dec 29th at 8am with the new record being 161″. Mattly’s weather forecast for Wednesday. Inversion conditions are present this morning as the snow study plot near Grizz Top is showing 44F at 5am and the mid 20’s in the town of Bear Valley. Cloudy skies will prevail this morning and give way to clearing by mid-day with the temp hovering around 40F or so for the high. ENE winds will again be in play today and be up to 10mph with some possible gusts above that range. The week ahead as well as the coming weekend will see the trend of dry conditions and sunshine continuing for the next 5-7 days with a bit of windy conditions showing face around the 14th as the models show an interesting event at that time as the gradients really tighten up.
