Hey Good People!! Fresh Powder & Pure Mountain Fun at Bear Valley!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/05/2022 10:02 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Mattly's weather forecast for Saturday. Well.......the system that is currently here is somewhat of a lack luster affair. We have picked up 4" of new snow overnight and 5" total for the storm so far. That's a far cry from the potential 12-18" but............it's snowing and we are all super stoked to see any snow fall from the sky. Today we may pick up 2-4" of new snow depending on how the low centered over Reno this morning moves southward and what it feels it would like to spin off in our direction. Cold air is in the mix today and tomorrow as the 5am temp reading at our study plot showed 12F so conditions should be ripe for some lite pow riding this morning. The high today will be around 22F with a West wind up to 10mph so riding and skiing should be great today with the freshening up of new snow. Sunday will bring cold overnight temps again with clearing skies as the low heads Southwest and the daytime high will be about 10F warmer than today and that trend looks to continue into Tuesday before another pool of cold air out of Canada shows face. The following weekend shows some activity from the 6-10day model runs but I'll address that later in the week as a few more days are needed to sus out a more solid forecast for that time frame......

Posted by: News_Desk on 03/04/2022 01:13 PM
Angels Camp, CA...Caltrans, District 10, Calaveras County, and numerous partners who have worked together for years celebrated a glorious groundbreaking ceremony for the long-awaited Wagon Trail Realignment Phase 1 Project on March 2 at Jordan Oaks Vineyard in Angels Camp. The project to realign an undulating, winding portion of State Route 4 between Angels Camp and Copperopolis will improve traffic safety and benefit residents, visitors, tourists, businesses, and the local economy. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2022. The State Route 4 Realignment Project will improve the segment of State Route 4 from Bonanza Mine Way to Stockton Road from 2.6 miles east of Copperopolis to about 1.6 miles west of the State Route 4/49 junction in Altaville (Angels Camp), post miles 10.3 to 16.4, a total of about 6 miles. The project will be to construct a new alignment with two standard 12-foot width lanes and 8-foot paved shoulders. The project would improve sight distance by increasing curve radii with the incorporation of longer, smoother curves. For more details on the project, click here.
