Amador County, CA... Amador County Public Health reports 132 more cases of COVID-19 and 1 additional death since the August 10th, 2021 update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 2,341. The community member who passed was a female in her 60s. The current cases include 67 males and 65 females; 30 children under the age of 18 years, 54 aged 18-49, 28 aged 50-64, 20 age 65 and above; 26 residing in Ione, 37 in Jackson, 10 living in Plymouth/surrounding areas, 15 in Pine Grove, 13 residing in Pioneer, 24 in Sutter Creek/Amador City, and 7 residing in Volcano. 1,107 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in 2021 to date. Of the new cases this week, 28 were vaccinated.

San Andreas, CA... Meet Victor, an adorable black and white tuxedo kitten named for the upside down “V” on his forehead. An older kitten, Victor is as sweet as they come and guaranteed to steal your heart. He adores absolutely everyone and follows visitors around his communal room like a puppy as if to say, “Take me! Take me!” He also has a very loud purr and a tiny meow which he seldom uses. Playful and active, Victor would likely fit into most any household where he can be showered with love and attention.

Murphys, CA… Black Sheep Winery arrived in Murphys with the 1984 harvest. From that first harvest we produced our 1984 Amador Zinfandel. The wine was styled in a big, bold way like nobody else could do. That’s what makes us Black Sheep; we’re different from the rest of the flock. Alpine County, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct one-way traffic control on State Route 207 from Route 4 to Mount Reba Resort for paving work beginning Monday, August 23, through Thursday, August 26, from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021. This work is part of a repaving project in Alpine County from Route 4/207 to the end of Route 207 at Mount Reba Resort, and in Calaveras County from west of Cabbage Patch to the Alpine County Line.
