Cyclists and walkers will enjoy the rolling green hills and rural roads of West Calaveras County during the Calaveras County Arts Council’s Sixth Annual Ride & Walk 4 Art on March 20, 2022. With three bicycle ride choices—30, 45, and 100 miles—or a 4.5 mile walk along the shores of New Hogan Lake—there’s something for everybody.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Powder to the People! Mattly's weather forecast for Sunday. A beautiful sunny day is ahead after some new snowfall. A crisp cold morning is on tap as 24F is registering on the temp gauge and another 3" of new snow fell overnight bringing the storm total to 6". Winds today will be in the mid teens with gusting reaching up into the low 30's as surface gradients remain tight forcing venturi type winds in canyons, prone gaps and ridgetops. As the upper level trough digs Southeast temps look to rise into the 50's this week as the high pressure ridging returns. The Central Valley areas around Colusa could crest 90F by Wednesday breaking their record for this time of year. Warming temps will be felt in the foothills and Mountains this week as the first day of Spring has arrived. This mornings model runs show a few weak short waves passing through so clouds and possible unsettled weather may show face by the end of next weekend with a favorable transition into a more active spring snowfall period.

The Blue Mountain Theater Opens a New Play in March!

West Point, CA...After two long dark seasons, the Blue Mountain Players are excited to open a new play and welcome patrons back to our little theater in the heart of West Point. We dare you not to die laughing with this local production of The Cemetery Club, written by Ivan Menchell and directed by Vicki Snead-Hinkell.
San Andreas, CA...After Greg and Kate move to Manhattan, he brings home a dog he found in the park bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. The marriage is put in jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives.
Jackson, CA....Downtown Jackson will overflow on Dandelion Days with antiques and crafts vendors, live music, a pancake breakfast, kids’ carnival and food booths, Saturday and Sunday, March 19 – 20, 2022, 8 am – 5 pm, rain or shine. Live music stages, sponsored by the National Hotel and Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort, will be in Petkovich Park and in the Logan’s Alley Beer & Wine Garden (by the creek next to the National Hotel). Murphys, CA...It was wonderful to see thousands of people returning to Irish Day after a two year hiatus due to Covid. The Murphys Business Association even special ordered authentic Irish Weather for the day. The drops of liquid sunshine did nothing to dampen the spirits of the attendees. The world's tallest leprechaun was back as were the classic parade entries. It was a great and green day in our local Irish Hamlet of Murphys. We tried to get a photo or two of each and every parade entry as the crossed the green shamrock and headed down Main Street. Murphys, CA...Murphys businesses and community are excited to welcome you back to our 29th annual celebration of Murphys Irish heritage, which traditionally takes place on the 3rd Saturday in March each year, rain or shine. Things will be a little different this year. Murphys, CA...Parking in Murphys can be a challenge on Irish Day, to put it lightly. Save the headache and park for free in our lot! We’ll have 2 shuttles running from 9:30am-5:30pm. Pickup will be in the lower parking lot, by the covered bridge. Sláinte!
