The Blue Mountain Theater Opens a New Play in March! |

West Point, CA...After two long dark seasons, the Blue Mountain Players are excited to open a new play and welcome patrons back to our little theater in the heart of West Point. We dare you not to die laughing with this local production of The Cemetery Club, written by Ivan Menchell and directed by Vicki Snead-Hinkell.

San Andreas, CA...After Greg and Kate move to Manhattan, he brings home a dog he found in the park bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. The marriage is put in jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives.

Dandelion Days Street Fair in Downtown Jackson! |

Jackson, CA....Downtown Jackson will overflow on Dandelion Days with antiques and crafts vendors, live music, a pancake breakfast, kids’ carnival and food booths, Saturday and Sunday, March 19 – 20, 2022, 8 am – 5 pm, rain or shine. Live music stages, sponsored by the National Hotel and Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort, will be in Petkovich Park and in the Logan’s Alley Beer & Wine Garden (by the creek next to the National Hotel). Music performances for all ages both days include Gunpowder & Lace, Summer of Love, Gotcha Covered, She Calls Him Wilson, Amador Sons, Black Irish Band, Violin on Fire, and the Blowbacks (formerly Blow Daddy).

Murphys Irish Day 2022 Returned Better Than Ever After Covid Slumber! Over 200 Photos & Full Parade Video |

Murphys, CA...It was wonderful to see thousands of people returning to Irish Day after a two year hiatus due to Covid. The Murphys Business Association even special ordered authentic Irish Weather for the day. The drops of liquid sunshine did nothing to dampen the spirits of the attendees. The world's tallest leprechaun was back as were the classic parade entries. It was a great and green day in our local Irish Hamlet of Murphys. We tried to get a photo or two of each and every parade entry as the crossed the green shamrock and headed down Main Street. Murphys, CA...Murphys businesses and community are excited to welcome you back to our 29th annual celebration of Murphys Irish heritage, which traditionally takes place on the 3rd Saturday in March each year, rain or shine. Things will be a little different this year. However, you can still expect to enjoy all your favorite activities, including our hometown parade at 11am, artisan vendors & food purveyors on the street from 10am-5pm, and live entertainment from noon-4pm. And, of course, all of our businesses will be open for shopping, dining, wine & beer tasting, and more.

Murphys, CA...Parking in Murphys can be a challenge on Irish Day, to put it lightly. Save the headache and park for free in our lot! We’ll have 2 shuttles running from 9:30am-5:30pm. Pickup will be in the lower parking lot, by the covered bridge. Sláinte!

Murphys, CA...This will be the first of several posts on the 2022 Murphys Irish Day! It was wonderful to see thousands of smiling and festive people today! The Murphys Business Association paid extra to have Official Irish Weather imported to California for the day. The liquid sunshine did nothing to dampen the spirits of the attendees but it did add a bit to the photographic challenges. It was either record with our normal video camera draped with plastic or switch to a GoPro. We chose to stick with our normal set up...and with the exception of a bit plastic sneaking into a few frames I think it worked out ok. The full parade video is below...
