Angels Camp, CA...In 1975 local miscreants Keith Bibee, Larry Thompson, Buck King and others started the Annual Hwy 49 Frog Painting tradition. For the last 47 years the Frog proudly gets another fresh coat of paint to welcome visitors to the Frog Jump Capital of the World. This year's crew included Keith Bibee as official observer and joke teller, Jake Bibee on the paint rollers, Larry Thompson & David Gallagher on traffic control, Ron Dwelley Frog Whisperer & promoter of all things Frog & Shana Heintz Nash, Frog Jump Committee Member & who has been an integral part of frog jumping in Calaveras County since the ripe old age of 2.

White Pines, CA...Join retired National Park Service Ranger Nancy Muleady-Mecham as she shares her extensive knowledge of the history of the Arnold Rim Trail and its environs. These gently paced walks meet at the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum in White Pines at 9 am and are about 2 miles round trip. Walks proceed rain or shine!

Avery, CA....Avery Middle School now has a beautiful $1.6 million all weather track & field. It will benefit not only the Avery students but also the entire community for the expected lifespan of the next 20 years. It is stunning and would look at home at a high school or even community college.
