Arnold, CA…Mornings with the One Percent™ is live weekday mornings. The premise for the show is that the USDA ranked all 3,142 counties or county equivalents in the USA on a livability or desirability scale based on factors such as climate, scenic beauty, bodies of water for recreation, humidity and much more. All of our area ranked not only in the top one percent but in the top one half of one percent. So in the ups and downs of daily life remember you don’t have to be a Gates, Buffett or Bezos to live like the one percent. Just live here!

Angels Camp, CA...Summer is creeping up on us, and it’s time to head to the great outdoors! Grab your tents and sleeping bags because the sunshine and fresh air are calling! And, what a great way to spend a family vacation this year. Camping with kids can be so much fun, and Calaveras County has got some incredible camping spots. Make sure to check out the full list of camping and RV parks in Calaveras County. Here are some places we think are worthy of sleeping-under-the-stars type family vacation.

Arnold, CA...It's Back! The Community Pancake Breakfast, previously put on by the Arnold Lions Club outside of Ebbetts Pass Gas in Arnold during Memorial Day, the 4th of July Parade, & Labor Day, will return this year! GABA Board members are so excited to bring back this local tradition!!!

Angels Camp, CA...The 2024 Frog Jump Champion is 86 Years Young Lillian Fasano Jockeying "The Frog Father" Jumps 20 Feet, 5 & 1/2 Inches. The white line in the photos below is the Rosie the Ribiter's 21 feet, 5 3/4 inches record from 1986. If "The Frog Father's" shadow in the jump is correct he was even closer to breaking the record than the judge's mark. Full Finals Video and Hundreds of photos up later this eve.

Angels Camp, CA...The Ladies from Soroptimist International did another great job putting on the 2024 Frog Jump Youth Parade that is one of the kick events on opening day of the Calaveras County Fair & Frog Jump Jubilee every year. Not only does it showcase small town Americana with youth floats, dance groups & marching bands it also highlights our area's Mark Twain History and celebrating the Frog Jumping tale that not only put Twain's career on the map but is woven into our local lore. This year Tom & Becky returned from Hannibal, MO Tom's boyhood home to highlight our shared histories. We have 79 photos below from this morning and full parade video will be up soon as well.
