Murphys, CA...This will be the first of several posts on the 2022 Murphys Irish Day! It was wonderful to see thousands of smiling and festive people today! The Murphys Business Association paid extra to have Official Irish Weather imported to California for the day. The liquid sunshine did nothing to dampen the spirits of the attendees but it did add a bit to the photographic challenges. It was either record with our normal video camera draped with plastic or switch to a GoPro. We chose to stick with our normal set up...and with the exception of a bit plastic sneaking into a few frames I think it worked out ok. The full parade video is below...

Murphys, CA...Parking in Murphys can be a challenge on Irish Day, to put it lightly. Save the headache and park for free in our lot! We’ll have 2 shuttles running from 9:30am-5:30pm. Pickup will be in the lower parking lot, by the covered bridge. Sláinte!

Copperopolis, CA...The Copperopolis Community Center presents it’s First Friday Concert Series produced by event promoter and CAMS (Calaveras County Music and Awards Show) producer Creative Copperopolis. Strong local acts and headliners from the Bay Area will provide musical entertainment for dancing and listening pleasure. A full bar and interesting food offerings will be available, as well as information booths and vendors sponsored by CABA (the Copperopolis Area Business Association) in association with Event City Live. This event is for 21+, bring ID. Murphys, CA...From the Club..."On this St. Patrick’s Day, our club installed and dedicated a beautiful bench in Murphys Park in memory of King J. McPherson. Today would have been King’s 105th birthday. He was a dedicated Rotarian who served as the Club’s Sergeant-at-Arms until last year, and held a world record with 78 years of perfect attendance. Everyone who knew King can remember his sunny attitude, excellent memory and dedication to serving his community, as they enjoy the view from this shady spot. Angels Camp, CA...The 37th Annual Calaveras County Virtual Science Fair was a success on a number of levels. This was the very first year that students were contending for the cash prize of $250 that were awarded to each of the four category winners. Student’s projects fall into one of these four categories: Physical Science and Engineering, Life Science, Behavioral and Cognitive Science, or Math and Computer Science.
