The Rubicon Trail has Reopened

Tahoma, CA...The Rubicon Trail maintenance project has been completed and the trail is now open again. Thanks to everyone for their patience.  The Rubicon Trail is a 22-mile-long route, part road and part 4x4 trail, located in the Sierra Nevada of the western United States, due west of Lake Tahoe and about 80 miles (130 km) east of Sacramento.

Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown, USA)..The Miss Calaveras Pageant is always held on the first day of the fair. So we will have to wait until Thursday night to see who the 2022 Miss Calaveras is but here is a look back at our coverage from last year. Congratulations to 2021 Miss Calaveras, Acadia Moes, and her court First Princess Emma Darmsted and Second Princess, Taylor Wilden! We had posted brief announcements earlier but we like to post a summary article that contains photos and video for that year so people can find all of our coverage in one spot. 420 PG&E Customers in the Dark Tonight

Arnold, CA...There are currently 420 PG&E customers from Murphys to the Arnold area without power tonight. According to the latest update electrons are due to be flowing again just after midnight.

Sonora, CA...The Sonora Bach Festival announces that it will be presenting 3 events in May: The Salon Concert, May, 15, with guest guitarist Larry Ferrara; a Guitar Master Class May 14, featuring Mr. Ferrara and talented classical guitar students; and The Locals Concert, May 22 at the Church of the 49ers. All events begin at 3:00. Tickets are available online or at The Mountain Bookshop in The Junction Shopping Center. Sheep Ranch, CA...Calaveras County Water District (CCWD), Calaveras County, the Sheep Ranch Fire Department, Cal Fire and numerous other members of the community celebrated the installation of a water tank in Sheep Ranch that will provide additional fire protection and water supply reliability for the area.
