Summer Starts with the Calaveras Arts Council’s Music in the Parks...Tonight is Cantamos in Murphys |

San Andreas, CA...One of the great joys of summer in Calaveras County is the Music in the Parks concert series presented by the Calaveras County Arts Council. Ten bands will play in ten towns throughout the county, from the foothills to up-country and the in between. Each Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., a different town will host a concert.

Sonora, CA....On Thursday, June 16th, at approximately 2:00 pm, Tuolumne County Fire/CAL FIRE TCU, Sonora City Fire, Tuolumne County Ambulance, and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 19000 block of Serrano Road in Sonora. On arrival firefighters found a residential structure with light smoke showing and reports of multiple dogs trapped inside.

Arnold, CA...We originally posted this for Father's Day in 2006. My father would turn 106 this year if he were here today. This poem was my father's favorite. This one is dedicated to my Father...Jay S. Hamilton. Dad was born in November 22, 1916 and died in May 1, 1991 of a Glioblastoma brain tumor. His life saw deep tragedy but he always rose above it. He was born in a house in rural Oklahoma with no electricity or running water. His Mom burned to death when he was 9 years old from a kerosene lantern fire while he was at home.....

While we do accept walk-ins, contacting us ahead of time to make your reservation is the best way to ensure that we have a bike ready for you in the correct size and style as soon as you arrive at our shop. If you rent a bike and decide that you can’t live without it, we’ll gladly put your rental fee towards the purchase of a new bike. Take home a new bicycle within 30 days of your bike rental and we’ll credit you up to one week’s worth of rental fees!

Arnold, CA...What has traditionally ben the largest and longest parade in Calaveras County is back and better than ever for 2022! It will be back to its regular cozy confines of Hwy 4 from the Arnold Byway to Cedar Center. The Parade will start at 10am on July 2nd and its still not to late to get your entry in and join the parade. GABA will be limiting the parade to the first 100 entries.
