Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! As upper level ridging continues to influence the forecast area we will see another beautiful day of sunshine, blue skies and great riding conditions. The high looks to be 45F with lite north winds up to 9mph. Monday will be a repeat then a cold air inside slider will show face on Tuesday bringing lite snowfall. An interesting strong upper jet progged over Asia will influence the West Coast later in the week and bring possible showers on Christmas Eve so I’ll give that another day or two to see how it might pan out. The Grand Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter occurs this Tonight after Sunset when both planets align as one. Don’t miss the best celestial show in nearly 800 years…..

Val-d'Isère, France....Twenty-one-year-old Keely Cashman took home her first FIS World Cup top-10 result in the Val d’Isere super-G on Sunday, finishing 10th. Ester Ledecka of the Czech Republic, best known for her surprising win in the PyeongChang Olympic super-G, won her first World Cup super-G. Just .03 seconds behind her was Corinne Suter of Switzerland, who made it three podiums in a row in Val d’Isere. Federica Brignone, who sat out Saturday’s downhill after crashing hard in Friday’s race, was third.

Bear Valley, CA...The Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) is excited to offer cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and tubing experiences for the 2020/2021 winter season. Since COVID-19 is alive and well, we have instituted some new rules in order to keep everyone safe. Help keep the Bear Valley winter wonderland open by supporting the following changes: General: Do not visit BVAC if you are feeling ill; this includes our groomed trails. Masks covering your nose and mouth are required inside the store, and anywhere social distancing (minimum 6 feet separation from others) cannot be maintained. On busy days, such as weekends and holidays: Be prepared to wait outside the store to maintain healthy spacing indoors. Plan to dress accordingly.

San Andreas, CA... Meet Capone, a sweet hound mix of about three years of age. A sensitive boy who startles easily to sound and sudden movement, Capone has a lot of love to give once he is comfortable with his person. He has made great strides as volunteers work with him to build confidence, though there remains room for improvement. He will need a patient person or family with older children who can provide a calm and soothing environment as they build on his trust. Capone would also benefit from obedience training, to help better learn his leash manners. We believe he is housebroken, too, since he keeps his kennel clean.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We kick of the Holiday Season today with beautiful blue skies in the forecast with the high being 39F with ESE winds up to 6mph. High pressure and sunny skies will be around through the weekend and into Monday so favorable weather equals good times for outside recreation. Inversion type conditions will bring cooler temps to the lower elevations and some warmer temps up high into Tuesday which the model runs show this morning that there could be some lite snowfall Tuesday before the next system shows face next weekend.
