Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! High pressure again will be in effect for most of today before a weak system pushes through tonight and into Thursday. 1-3″ of new snow is expected to fall tonight before exiting on Thursday as high pressure will again be in place over the NorCal forecast area. Snowfall elevations will be down into the 3500′ range for this system. The next wave of snow looks to arrive around New Years and models are showing a more robust system at that time with initial snowfall elevations being around the 5500-6000′ range as warm air ahead of the system will influence snowfall as well as winds. Participants from the region are encouraged to share their perspective on conveyance infrastructure needs and priorities, effective partnerships, public benefits of conveyance, possible criteria to assess resilience, efforts in preparing for changing hydrology, and effective financing mechanisms. The workshops are not associated with the pending proposal to improve conveyance through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
Sprinkles is Your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week!

San Andreas, CA... Meet Sprinkles - a lovely, medium-haired, dilute tortie. Extraordinarily friendly and outgoing, Sprinkles loves meeting new people and will likely take on the role of chief greeter in her new home. She enjoys being petted and brushed, too, though Sprinkles is not quite a lap cat (more what one might call a lay down beside you and snuggle up kitty). Sometimes a little forceful in demanding attention, Sprinkles will give little “love nips” until she is petted. For this reason, a caring home without very young children would be best. With her enormous green eyes, soft fur and plume-like tail, this sweet girl is bound to steal your heart. Why not stop by and see her today?

Sacramento, CA... Governor Gavin Newsom today released the State Safe Schools for All plan, California’s framework to support schools to continue operating safely in-person and to expand the number of schools safely resuming in-person instruction. Informed by growing evidence of the decreased risks and increased benefits of in-person instruction especially for our youngest students – Governor Newsom is advancing a strategy that will help create safe learning environments for students and safe workplaces for educators and other school staff. The plan was developed in partnership with the Legislature, and the Governor will propose an early action package to ensure schools have the resources necessary to successfully implement key safety precautions and mitigation measures. Components of the plan will be launched in the coming weeks.
