Bear Valley Music Festival Returns for 51st Year July 19 - August 4!

Bear Valley, CA...Celebrating the start of its second half-century in the High Sierra, the Bear Valley Music Festival begins on Friday, July 19 and runs through Sunday, August 4, 2019 with a total of 14 concerts including a special free family matinee on Saturday, July 27. The festival showcases a wide selection of artists and genres including rock, classical, Broadway and jazz.

Arnold, CA...Teri Reece is retiring with 32 years of service with the USPS. She has plans to relax and just enjoy her time with retired husband, Vince in the Arnold community . She is leaving her co-workers Samantha Garman, Kailagh Carroll, Beverly Puhak and Linda Baker. Also included, Laurie Sage who retired last October. She will be greatly missed and we wish her well.

Toad Habitat Meadow Restoration on Summit Ranger District Could Cause Traffic Congestion

Strawberry, CA...Stanislaus National Forest announced that contractors with heavy construction equipment will be on Forest Road 4N12, Herring Creek Road, as they undertake meadow restoration work. The contractor will begin staging construction equipment in late July, which may include excavators, backhoes, loaders, water trucks, and dump trucks. Work is expected to begin in early August and be complete by mid-October. While most work will occur between Monday and Friday, some work may happen on weekends as well, according to Tracy Weddle, Stanislaus National Forest hydrologist and project manager.
