The Colby Westberg Memorial Stockman Award |

Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown)..The Colby Westberg Stockman Award will be presented by the Westberg Family to an exhibitor who exemplifies an outstanding work ethic, social responsibility and fortitude. Colby was active in 4-H, FFA and the Bret Harte High School football program. He raised swine and beef. He helped others and encouraged younger exhibitors. The award is given by his family in his memory.

Jamestown, CA...With an extraordinary spring wildflower season expected this year, California State Parks, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation are proud to provide guests with a unique opportunity to experience spring wildflowers from aboard a historic train. While the Park is open daily, special Wildflower Train Rides are available on two weekends – April 13-14 & 20-21 – and depart from the Depot promptly at 3 p.m. Prior to boarding the train, passengers will have the opportunity to learn about the wildflowers of California’s Sierra Nevada foothills with an informative naturalist presentation at 2:30 p.m.

On Saturday, May 4th Chili Cookers and Tasters will gather on the Hotel lawn from 11 am to 2 pm for this fun, family event with live music from Plan B Band! Bear Valley, CA...The Slush Cup is a fun race for the entire Bear Valley Ski community. It is a fund raiser for Bear Valley SnowSports Foundation whose purpose is to support the Bear Valley Team programs and athletes along with supporting the Adaptive Program by providing equipment and coach/instructor training. Murphys, CA, June 2nd 9am – The first annual “Run Like Goose” 5K Run/Walk fundraiser for Grief and Trauma Recovery will be benefiting local Tavius Aiton’s nonprofit Live Like Goose in honor of his son “Goose.” About the event: The 5K Run/Walk starting at Murphy’s Park on Algiers Road in Murphy’s, CA. The run will go out six mile road towards Ironstone Vineyards and back to Murphys Park. The scenic course has some rolling hills and is a fun run or walk.

Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown, USA)..Join the action at Frog Jump – Sign up now to form a Jump Start Team. “Be a Kid Again” is the theme for the 2019 Calaveras County Fair, where anyone can form a team to compete in the signature event – The International Jumping Frog Jubilee. The Jump Start Program encourages new participants by providing everything they need to compete as a team. For a fee of $75 each Jump Start Team of two to six people receives six frog competitors plus free admission to the fair the day they compete.
