Posted by: thepinetree on 07/14/2020 06:08 PM
Murphys, CA...Normally at this time of year, we would be plastering posters all over town and selling tickets to locals and visitors alike, spreading excitement for the return of the annual Shrimp Feed event. We look forward to having that kind of fun in the park again in 2021! Because all our community service programs depend on this one fundraiser, this year we will have a “DRIVE-THRU SHRIMP FEED” so folks can enjoy a bounteous meal & drinks to-go! Our Silent Auction and Magic Card Raffle will continue, NOW ALL ONLINE! BUY TICKETS, BOOK YOUR PICKUP TIME & REGISTER FOR BIDDING ON OUR FUNDRAISER SITE! You can also donate to our causes or become a sponsor!

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/10/2020 10:49 PM
Murphys, CA...The Ebbetts Pass Youth Soccer League Board of Directors hopes everyone in the greater Ebbetts Pass community continues to remain safe and healthy as the magnitude of the coronavirus appears to be expanding both locally as well as nationally.  The Board of Directors continues to monitor guidelines from federal, state and local health authorities as it works to develop a plan to return to play for fall soccer.   Our primary focus is and will remain the health and safety of players, families and coaches and decisions to return to play, which includes conditioning, team training and eventually competition, will be based on public state and county health guidance.

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/07/2020 09:36 AM
Arnold, CA...On many holiday weekends including Memorial Day & Fourth of July the Ebbetts Pass Veteran's Memorial district makes sure the flag is flying in communities along the Ebbetts Pass Corridor to honor those who have served. It is also a reminder to all of us that freedom is never free. On most holidays the local Boy Scout Troops provide the labor to raise and lower the flags before and after the holiday weekends.

The Superintendents of Calaveras County Would Like to Address Youth Sports Under COVID-19.

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/07/2020 12:51 PM
Angels Camp, CA....We understand the value and importance of youth sports to our students, families, and the community. Many of you have been asking for youth sports to return. Currently, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has not issued guidance on this topic and has advised local public health departments that they did not have the authority to grant permission for those activities. If local permission had been granted, then it would have to be rescinded.

From the Archives....The GABA 2008 Arnold Independence Day Parade

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/03/2020 12:48 PM
Arnold, CA...We dug into the archives to bring you a parade of Independence Days Past. This is video, photos and verbiage from 2008..."We would like to thank GABA, The Greater Arnold Business Association, and the committee of volunteers along with Grand Marshal, Betty Ann Prescott, for doing a bang up job organizing this year's parade! There were some well thought out floats this year. As an example you could tell Hours upon Hours were spent on floats like the Pinebrook HOA float. This year even featured some great "Live Action" floats. I sure bet the fisherman on the Golden Pines float need a throat lozenge after his high energy "Fishing" all the way down the parade route. Jenny Roland started things off with a stirring A Capella singing of our national anthem. We have full parade video and over 200 photos. Thanks everyone for such a great parade. We hope you enjoy the parade video and photos as much as we enjoyed the parade."
