Murphys, CA...Competitive runners, and people who just enjoy a stroll in the verdant countryside, are invited to take part in the 6th annual Off the Beaten Path, Walk/Run for Autism Awareness on Saturday, April 22 in Murphys Community Park. The money raised will go to support Mind Matters, the Murphys based non-profit clinic that treats Autism and other learning disorders.

Amador FlyFishers Hosting Free Fly Fishing Faire April 22

Jackson, CA...Amador FlyFishers (AFF) will be hosting a free Fly Fishing Faire Sunday, April 22, from 10am to 2pm at Detert Park, 530 Highway 49, Jackson, California. There will be booths with club members demonstrating the use of the tools of the sport and answering questions to help attendees learn more about the wonderful sport of flyfishing. There will also be hands-on activities. Most importantly, AFF will be highlighting its Youth Program which targets junior high and high school age kids and provides good hands-on flyfishing classes.

Arnold, CA...Dyemusica has been bringing original jam and reggae music to the motherlode since 2012. They have decided to disband due to health issues and as Kevin is leaving the state. Dyemusica are ardent supporters of local charities, have made original music and made many friends and they'd love for everyone to come out one last time to celebrate thier catalog of music and say goodbye to a Gold Country standard as they want to thank everyone for all the fun and memories!

Calaveras Airport Day 2018, Fly-In & Open House is April 21

Angels Camp, CA...Calaveras Airport is hosting their annual Fly-In & Open House on Saturday April 21 from 8am to 5pm. In addition to many aircraft flying in there will be aircraft, classic cars, & RC airplanes on display. Lions Club will be serving a pancake breakfast and for lunch EAA chapter 484 will BBQ hamburgers & more. There will be music throughout the day by "The Calaveras Community Band" and "The Rusty Rockers". Airplane rides are offered to the public; $10 for children & $20 for adults. Celebrate Spring Aboard Railtown 1897’s Popular & Fun Wildflower Train

With spring in full bloom, California State Parks, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation are proud to provide guests with a unique opportunity to experience spring wildflowers from aboard a train. While the Park is open daily, special Wildflower Train Rides are available on two weekends – April 21, 22, 28 & 29 – and depart from the Depot promptly at 3 p.m. Prior to boarding the train, passengers will have the opportunity to learn about the wildflowers of California’s Sierra Nevada foothills with an informative naturalist presentation at 2:30 p.m.
