Multiple Arrests in Sonora Yesterday

Sonora, CA...On Monday at around 9:45 a.m. Deputy Rod Hobbs was patrolling in the area of Sunny Circle in Sonora when he noticed a vehicle in a driveway that matched the description of a vehicle that had been stolen the day before. During his surveillance, Deputy Hobbs saw two males, 22 year Sean Foster and 32 year old Anthony Ortega, both from the Sonora area, standing in front of the house. Angels Camp Man Arrested on Texas Stolen Vehicle and other Charges

Angels Camp, CA...On February 11, 2012, Angels Camp Police Officers made a traffic enforcement stop in the 300 block of S. Main St., on a vehicle driven by Randy J Aitken, 25 of Angels Camp. Aitken was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended California driver license. The investigation led to the discovery of a reported stolen vehicle parked at Aitken’s residence, which was reported stolen by the Kyle, Texas Police Department. Additional investigation led to the recovery of illegal narcotics, firearms and live ammunition....

Suspect Arrested for Violating Terms of AB 109 Post-Release Conditions

San Andreas, CA....On 02/06/12 at approx. 0900 hours, Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputies while on patrol in San Andreas, observed a wanted subject, Manuel Travis Grow (38) of West Point, driving a vehicle on Highway 49. The deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Grow had an active warrant for his arrest for failing to abide by the terms and conditions of his post-release supervision after being released from state prison as part of AB 109. Grow reportedly cut and removed his electronic ankle monitor. Also arrested .....

Inmate Death at California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran Being Investigated as a Homicide

CORCORAN-- Officials at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran (CSATF/SP) are investigating an inmate death as a homicide. Michael Benjamin Burch, 67, was found unresponsive in his cell Tuesday, January 31. He was pronounced deceased by prison medical officials and transported to the King’s County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. The Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide Tuesday evening....

Arrests in Burglary Investigations

Angels Camp, CA...On 02-04-12, at approximately 2:46 AM, an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was dispatched to a report of an intruder inside a residence on Blair Mine Road. The reporting party advised that they were awakened by noise and saw someone holding a flashlight inside the residence. The officer responded and checked the area and did not locate any suspect(s) at the time of the call. It was discovered that the intruder removed a money clip and cash from inside the residence and that the intruder had tampered with a lap top computer. ...

Homicide Detectives Investigating Homicide in Empire, CA

Empire, CA....At 1:10 PM on Saturday, February 4th, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 20 Block of G Street in Empire, CA for a subject who had been shot. When deputies arrived on scene they found 21 y/o Gabriel Estrada of Empire lying in the roadway, Estrada had been shot and died on scene. At this time it is not known how many times he was shot, but homicide detectives believe it may be gang related. Homicide detectives are currently interviewing family and witnesses to determine what led up to today’s homicide. There is limited suspect information at this time, but detectives do know that multiple subjects were seen running from the scene.
