Stop For Altered Registration Tags Leads To Multiple Arrests

Sonora, CA...On Sunday, February 19th around 2:45 PM, Deputy Sandelin conducted a traffic stop on Quail Mine Road near Big Hill Road in Sonora. The blue 1998 VW Passat displayed a 2017 registration sticker that appeared to be tampered with. DMV records confirmed the vehicle’s registration to have been expired since 2015. The driver, 43 year old Hubbard Wilson, was driving on a suspended driver’s license, had no proof of insurance, had expired vehicle registration, and displayed a false registration tag on the vehicle.

Washington State Runaway Located In Tuolumne County

Columbia, CA...On Tuesday February 14th, a Private Investigator from southern California contacted the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office with information that he had been working with a family member from the state of Washington to locate their 17 year old runaway daughter. The girl’s location was traced to the Columbia area in Tuolumne County. A deputy found indications that the juvenile was believed to be with a 21 year old man named Fabian Rivera. The family of the juvenile believed she was coerced to leave with Rivera or she was taken against her will.

High School Diploma Presented To Tuolumne County Jail Inmate

Sonora, CA...Today we were able to witness the first inmate at the Tuolumne County Jail to be presented a High School Diploma from an accredited school through the Superintendent of Schools Adult Education and Jail Educational Services. An independent study teacher from the County Superintendent of Schools reviews records of the individual and evaluates what requirements and units are needed to recieve completion for a diploma. The teacher provides tutoring to prepare the the individual for testing and educational counseling. The teacher meets with the individual two to three times a week for instruction and assigns homework that is to be completed throughout the week. If the individual is released from custody during the process they are able to still follow through and test at the Day Reporting Center.
