Fatal Industrial Accident Outside of Mokelumne Hill Took The Life of Ansel John Bowman

Mokelumne Hill, CA...The sad family notifications have been made and it can now be released that it was Ansel John Bowman who lost his life yesterday from an industrial accident. John was born on September 4th, 1961. The accident occured during brush and tree clearing operations. While the investigation is ongoing initial reports are that a tree sized log broke loose and rolled down and struck him.

Minors Involved in Major Injury Snowmobile Collision in Bear Valley

Bear Valley, CA....A 16 year old Manteca man was riding a 2004 Ski-Doo northbound on the groomed snow covered roadway of Fremont Road south of Quaking Aspen Road, at a high rate of speed. Due to his unsafe speed he was unable to maintain control of the snowmobile. The Ski-Doo veered to the right traveling onto the east shoulder and up a snow embankment, becoming airborne. It then landed upright and then became airborne a second time as it continued in a northerly direction and down a snow embankment. The Ski-Doo struck a tree while airborne and landed on its left side. All parties were ejected off the Vehicle.

Calaveras Sheriff's Dept Eradicates Another Marijuana Grow

Mountain Ranch CA...On 3/14/2019 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 8000 block of Cave City Road, Mountain Ranch. During the service of the search warrant an elaborate indoor marijuana operation was located. The marijuana plants were in varying stages of maturity. There were 1985 marijuana plants growing within the main house which had been converted into several individual growing rooms. Investigators located a large commercial sized generator inside a structure built next to the main house.

Two Canine Fatalities in Home Fire Last Night

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."Last night around 11 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies and Fire crews responded to a fully engulfed house fire in the 25000 block of Richards Ranch Road in Sonora. A family dog alerted the homeowner to flames that appeared to have started in the garage of the home. The occupants were able to escape safely with one person suffering minor burns. It was reported two of the family’s dogs did not make it out safely. The origin of the fire has not yet been determined."

Lane Change Takes Life of Ceres Resident Joshua Cody Boykin on Hwy 120 (Updated)

Jamestown, CA...On March 13, 2019 at approximately 6:25 pm, 25 year old Turlock resident, Jeffery Smith, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling westbound on State Route 120 west of O’Byrnes Ferry Road at approximately 50-55 mph, in a line of vehicles. A 45 year old Ceres resident Joshua Cody Boykin was riding a 2016 Yamaha R1 motorcycle traveling approximately 50-55 mph, a few vehicles to the rear of Smith’s Tahoe. After eastbound traffic passed, the 45 year old rider moved his motorcycle into the eastbound lane and began to pass slower moving vehicles in front of him. As the motorcycle was pulling alongside the Tahoe, Smith moved to the left and began to enter the eastbound lane. Smith’s Tahoe struck the motorcycle, causing the Yamaha to travel to the left, across the eastbound lane and onto the shoulder.

One person is in custody, however Police believe there may be other offenders. This is an evolving incident and we are working to confirm the facts, however we can confirm there have been a number of fatalities. Police is currently at a number of scenes.
