Explosion at Quartz Mine Marijuana Grow, One Hospitalized and Marijuana Seized

Mountain Ranch, CA...On 1-26-19 at approx. 0805 hours CCSO Dispatch received multiple reports of an explosion in the area of the 6000 block of Quartz Mine Road in Mountain Ranch. Upon arrival to the area Deputies were directed to a property by neighbors who heard the loud noise and people yelling. An outbuilding was found to have been demolished from an explosion. While Deputies were conducting their investigation and attempting to locate subjects on the property, Mark Twain Medical Center reported that a 41 year old female had arrived at the hospital emergency room with burns. A CCSO Explosive Ordinance Device Team (aka Bomb Team) Deputy along with members of the Marijuana Enforcement Team responded to this incident. Evidence of mixed light and indoor marijuana cultivation were discovered on this property. An investigation is ongoing in regards to the marijuana. 1000 marijuana plants and 136 pounds of processed marijuana were seized.

Modesto Man Lost His Life & Three Injured in Hwy 108/120 Collision

Jamestown, CA...On Saturday, January 26, 2019, at approximately 6:06 pm, 37 year old driver Billy Thao and 43 year old passenger Brad Thao, both from Sacramento, were traveling westbound on State Route 120 in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, east of La Grange Road. 29 year old driver Muruganandham Arulandham and 24 year old passenger Cindhu Elamuazhuthz, both from Sunnyvale, were traveling westbound on State Route 120 in a 2018 Toyota Rav4, to the rear of Thao. A 55 year old Modesto resident was driving a 1995 Mazda 626 eastbound on State Route 120 east of La Grange Road approaching Thao's Tacoma. For unknown reasons the driver of the Mazda failed to safely negotiate the slight right curve in the roadway and crossed into the westbound lane into Thao's path. Thao was unable to take evasive action before the front of the Mazda struck the front of the Tacoma.

Governor Newsom Announces his Intention to End Juvenile Imprisonment in California as We Know It

Stockton, CA...Surrounded by students at O.H. Close Youth Correctional Facility, Governor Gavin Newsom announced his Administration will begin working with the Legislature to remove the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Joined by state and local leaders as well as childhood development experts, Governor Newsom praised the students at the facility who are working to develop job skills and start careers through apprenticeship and coding programs, as well as the staff who are helping youth address the behaviors that brought them to DJJ. He lifted up the programs as models for what the future of juvenile justice in California should look like.

One Columbia Man Arrested and Another Being Sought for Burglary.

Columbia, CA...On Wednesday morning, Deputies were called out to N. Sunshine Road for a reported burglary of two adjoining businesses. Deputies found damage to a mail slot near the door of the automotive shop in which 23-year-old Camron McFadden and 37-year-old Johnny McMaster of Columbia used to gain entry inside.

Roger Stone Arrested on Obstruction & False Testimony Charges.

Washington, DC....Longtime political operative & consultant Roger Stone Jr. was arrested this morning as a result of the Robert Mueller investigation. The following is a quote from the indictment. In response, STONE took steps to obstruct these investigations. Among other steps to obstruct the investigations, STONE: a. Made multiple false statements to HPSCI about his interactions regarding Organization 1, and falsely denied possessing records that contained evidence of these interactions; and b. Attempted to persuade a witness to provide false testimony to and withhold pertinent information from the investigations." Stone is expected to plead not guilty and be released awaiting trial. MET Team Eradicates an Indoor Grow in Mountain Ranch

Mountain Ranch, CA...On 1-16-19 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 9000 block of Wendell Road, Mountain Ranch. Upon arrival deputies detained the solo occupant of the residence. One of the outbuildings on the property was found to have been converted for indoor marijuana cultivation.

South Lake Tahoe Man Arrested on Murder Charges after Allegedly Killing Roommate with Firewood

South Lake Tahoe, CA...South Lake Tahoe Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1100 block of Carson Ave last Sunday at 2:45 PM. The initial report said a man was hitting a female with a large object. When officers arrived they found the victim, 65-year-old Valorie Turley, lying in front of her residence with significant head injuries.

TCSO Looking for Christopher Snyder after Hit & Run.

Columbia, CA...Last night deputies attempted to stop a green Honda Accord on Yankee Hill Road in Columbia for expired registration. As soon as the driver spotted the deputy, he took off. The deputy caught up with the vehicle and noticed it had slid off the roadway and collided into a metal gate in front of a home. As the deputy pulled his patrol car behind the Honda, the driver put his car in reverse and accelerated, slamming into the patrol car before taking off and leading the deputies in a pursuit. The driver later identified as 35-year-old Christopher Snyder of Sonora, stopped the car in a driveway on Glory Gulch Road and took off on foot. He is now wanted for evading, driving on a suspended license due to DUI, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Wanted Man Found With a Pound of Meth, Weapons & More!

Tuolumne, CA...Wanted man found with guns and drugs. On Saturday afternoon, Deputy Vince Lee spotted 24-year-old wanted man, Armando Gonzalez of Jamestown, running from an SUV at the Tuolumne Apartments. Gonzalez had several felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest and fled from the deputy into one of the apartments. When speaking to a resident at the door of the apartment, Gonzalez escaped through a window and and led deputies in a foot chase. Gonzalez was quickly captured and continued to resist arrest until he was secured in handcuffs.
