Murder Suspect Sean Patrick Purdy Arrested, Search Continues for His Father's Body

Incline Village, CA...At approximately 1230 PM on today’s date, homicide suspect Sean Purdy was arrested without incident in the Incline Village area of Washoe County, Nevada by deputies from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO). An Amador County Superior Court arrest warrant was issued for Purdy’s arrest on a single count of murder pursuant to CA Penal Code Section 187(a).

Successful Multi-Agency, Search and Rescue Efforts Lead to Rescue of 66 Year Old

Avery, CA...On December 31, 2019, at approximately 5:00 PM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received notification that a person had activated a personal emergency locator beacon from a location between Avery and Sheep Ranch (Calaveras County). Further reports revealed that a 66-year-old male had departed on a portion of the Arnold RIM trail from a location in Avery while operating an electric mountain bike. The male initially used a cell phone to inform a family member that he was lost, and then after traveling further, lost cell service and activated his emergency beacon.

CHP Hopes Everyone Is Another Year Wiser

Sacramento, CA...As a new year approaches, all motorists can resolve to celebrate safely. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) would like to remind everyone to buckle up, avoid distractions while behind the wheel, and have a plan in place if you intend to consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances. For this New Year’s Day Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP), the CHP will be deploying all available personnel from 6:01 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, to 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. The CHP will focus on impaired drivers, but officers will also watch for distracted driving, speeding, and seat belt violations. As always, our officers will be at the service of motorists in need of assistance.
