On October 26, 2008 at approximately 1:10am, Cpl. Vic Serrano and Deputy Alex Rivera were working a two-man patrol unit in the Jamestown CA area. They saw a motorcycle that ran a stop sign on the corner of Chicken Ranch Road and Hwy 108. They attempted to stop the motorcycle for the vehicle code violation. Valley Springs Man Arrested for Child Molestation

Valley Springs, CA....We received this Press Release from the Calaveras County Sheriffs Department. "On Tuesday, October 21st, Albert Engel Jr., 39, turned himself in to the Calaveras County Jail in response to a warrant issued by the Calaveras County District Attorney's Office. The warrant charges Engel with lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, continuous sexual abuse of a child and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and the suspect is more than 10 years older......

Tuolumne County Traffic Alert....New Priest Grade will Be Closed for at Least One Hour....UPDATED

Groveland, CA...CAL Fire and CHP are reporting that a utility truck went over the side of the roadway and caught fire on New Priest Grade Road. There were minor injuries to the driver but all traffic on New Priest will be diverted to Old Priest Grade with it exceptions of Bus & Truck Traffic which will have to hold until New Priest Grade Re-opens. Updates to come. UPDATE #1 2:03pm. Road is still closed, so please try to avoid the area if at all possible. UPDATE #2 2:13pm....Closed for possibly another 1-2 hours per CHP. UPDATE #3 5:32pm....Roadway Opened with alternating traffic control.

Another ATM Heist...This time successful at Big Trees Market

Arnold, CA...Big Trees Market was struck last night in the second ATM heist in the last few days in the area. A few days ago thieves attempted to take the ATM at Mother Lode Bank in Murphys. This time the ATM attack was successful at Big Trees. In an early morning heist they apparently tied a chain or cable around the machine and pulled it out of the front of the store. The store now has a tarp in place covering the broken window....

Stanislaus National Forest Planning 212 Acre Prescribed Burn Near Cow Creek Area

The Stanislaus National Forest's Summit Ranger District is planning to conduct a 212 acre prescribed burn near the Cow Creek area, located 1/2 mile north of the community of Cow Creek, about 4 miles north of Pinecrest, between Forest road 5N12 and State Hwy 108. Depending on weather and fuel moisture conditions, implementation is set for the time period between October 19-20, 2008. Once ignited, the prescribed burn is expected to continue for several days.....

CHP is reporting a minor injury collision at Hwy 4 just east of Appaloosa. 3 Vehicles involved. Please use caution in the area as emergency crews and tow trucks are on scene.

According to CHP, Ebbetts Pass is closed. Chains are requires from Hwy 4 Mt. Reba to Bear Valley. (R2) Carson Pass is open, however, chains are required from on Hwy 88 at Kirkwood to Crystal Springs. (R2)

Firefighter Suffers Minor Injury at the Structure Fire That Occurred on Thursday

Columbia, CA...We have received the official CAL Fire report on the Columbia structure fire which is being officially caused by Arson. The fire occurred at 22265 Parrots Ferry Road in Columbia and caused $40,000 in damages to the structure along with $15,000 in damages to its contents. A firefighter also suffered a laceration to the head and was taken to Sonora Regional with minor injuries. The CAL Fire report is enclosed.....

TRAFFIC NEWS....Possible Head on Collision at Hwy 4 and Angels Road....Please Use Caution...Roadway Clear as of 2:15pm (Updated With CHP Release Enclosed)

Angels Camp, CA....CHP is reporting a Collision with Ambulance responding. Emergency crews and tow trucks are blocking lane, so please use caution in the area. Update as of 2:20pm....Four vehicles involved. Rear end accident that pushed vehicles into oncoming lanes. Last of the vehicles being cleared now. Everyone involved should be fine. One man had a forehead laceration and briefly lost consciousness and was taken to a hospital for observation. All of the vehicle airbags and other safety measures turned what could have been a very serious accident into a lot of property damage and bent sheet metal. All injuries were minor except for the vehicles. The paperwork on this one may take awhile. The officer on scene said this one had everything but a rollover......
