Sonora, CA...On March 24, 2021, at approximately 8:20 pm, 33-year-old Stephanie Foster of Mi Wuk Village was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 pick-up truck westbound on Mono Way along with her 1-year-old toddler. She allowed her vehicle to travel off the north roadway edge, over a sidewalk and crashed into a bus stop kiosk located in front of the Indian Rock Center.

Columbia Woman Arrested as Suspect in Fatal Hit & Run Crash that Killed Local Teen |

Sonora, CA...The Sonora Area CHP has made an arrest in connection with the fatal hit and run crash that occurred on February 28, 2021, which resulted in the death of a 17-year-old female. On March 25, 2021, at approximately 6:35pm, 67-year-old Lisa Dianne Hunt of Columbia was placed under arrest in connection with the fatal crash. She was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked on charges of Vehicular Manslaughter, Felony Hit and Run, Destroying or Concealing evidence and providing false information to an officer.

Felony Vandalism Damages Utica’s Public Water Supply System |

Murphys, CA....On or about Saturday March 6, 2021, two or more individuals committed felony vandalism to Utica Water and Power Authority’s (Utica) public water supply system east of Forest Meadows near the end of Pennsylvania Gulch Road. Utica’s water system is the sole water supply for more than 10,000 residential, commercial and agricultural customers between Murphys and Angels Camp. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and Utica are seeking help from the public to identify the individuals who vandalized the system and report any additional suspicious activity observed near Utica’s flume and ditch system. Video surveillance and photos from the area where the crime occurred are being reviewed by Utica and the Sheriff’s Office, along with tire tracks, footprints and other evidence left at the scene.

San Andreas, CA...This morning at the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors regular meeting, Calaveras County Sheriff Rick DiBasilio and Tuolumne County Sheriff Bill Pooley presented Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Markovitz with a life-saving award for his efforts on February 8th, 2021 to save a man from jumping off the Parrots Ferry Bridge.

Felony Hit & Run Arrest After Chicken Ranch Road Collision |

Sonora, CA...On March 22, 2021 at approximately 3:50 pm, 20- year-old- Albert Roman III of Oakdale was driving his 2005 Mercedes sedan with his passengers 19-year-old Nathaniel Stetson of Ceres and a 16-year-old female from Oakdale, northbound on Chicken Ranch Road north of the Chicken Ranch Casino at a high rate of speed. At that same, 60-year-old Floyd Johnson Jr of Modesto was driving his 2001 Mercedes sedan with his passenger 69-year-old Richard Alvarez of Modesto, northbound on Chicken Ranch Road north of Chicken Ranch Casino just ahead of Mr. Roman’s vehicle. Due to Mr. Roman’s speed, he allowed his vehicle to travel up an embankment on the right side of the roadway and overturn onto the passenger side of Mr. Johnson’s vehicle. After the crash, all the occupants in Mr. Roman’s vehicle fled the scene on foot. Mr. Alverez sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and was treated at the scene.
