Burglary Suspect & Passenger with Large Amounts of Drugs Arrested

Sonora, CA...Saturday evening, while conducting follow up investigation into previous drug sales and burglary cases from earlier this year, Deputies spotted 47-year-old Shayne Greenway of Sonora, riding a motorcycle in the area of Curtis Circle. Greenway, actively on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS), was believed to be connected to the above-mentioned cases and was also wanted for a local felony warrant. Greenway was accompanied by a passenger, 36-year-old Stacey Elliott of Sonora.

Wanted Sonora Man Arrested on Drug & Other Charges

Sonora, CA...Thursday afternoon, a deputy was patrolling the parking lot near Pet Smart in Sonora when he noticed 37-year-old Shane Steele of Sonora. The deputy recognized Steele as having warrants for his arrest and contacted him. During his arrest, Steele and his belongings were searched.

Attorney General Bonta Announces Expansion of Bureau of Environmental Justice

Sacramento, CA...California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced an expansion of the California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Environmental Justice. Established in 2018, the Bureau was the first of its kind in a state attorney general’s office and created to protect people and communities that endure a disproportionate share of environmental pollution and public health hazards. When the hiring is complete, the Bureau will house 11 attorneys who are solely focused on fighting environmental injustices throughout the state of California and giving a voice to frontline communities who are all too often under-resourced and overburdened.

Salinas Woman Named as Shooter in Murder Suicide in Yosemite West

Yosemite West, CA...Major Incident Release on Murder / Suicide Updated on April 27th from the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office. The MCSO has named Roland Goldberg, age 31 from Lebanon, Missouri as the victim and the Suspect- as Elisabeth Shauck, age 22 from Salinas, California. The gun used, a Glock model 17 was registered to Shauck.  Goldberg and Shauck were in a long term dating relationship and at this time is appears the two were on vacation in the Yosemite West community. AG Announces $300 Million Settlement Against Indivior for Improper Marketing of an Opioid Addiction Recovery Product

Sacramento, CA...California Attorney General Rob Bonta today announced a $300 million settlement against Indivior plc and Indivior Inc. (collectively, “Indivior”) resolving claims that Indivior falsely and aggressively marketed Suboxone, resulting in improper use of state Medicaid funds. Suboxone is a drug product approved for use by recovering opioid addicts to avoid or reduce withdrawal symptoms while they undergo treatment. California was a part of the team of states that negotiated the settlement which will be paid to all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Indivior will pay a total of $300 million to resolve various civil fraud allegations impacting Medicaid and other federal healthcare programs, with $203,735,800 going to Medicaid. The amount paid to the states, plus D.C., and Puerto Rico, will be $90,682,800.00 for their Medicaid recovery. California’s share of the settlement is $1,644,217.97 in restitution and other recoveries.

Groveland, CA....From TCSO...**UPDATE 12am** The incident has been brought to a peaceful conclusion and the barricaded subject has been taken into custody. A post detailing the incident will be made soon. **Original** The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit has responded and is on scene with a subject barricaded in the Yosemite Lakes Country Store and gas station, west of the Yosemite gate on Highway 120. Please assist us and avoid the area, there is heavy Law Enforcement presence. Thank you for your consideration.
