Head on Collision Takes Life of Valley Springs Man |

Valley Springs, CA...A juvenile was driving his Chevrolet eastbound on Double Springs Road, west of SR-26, entering a right hand curve. A motorcyclist was riding his Kawasaki westbound on Double Springs Road, west of SR-26, entering the same curve. Due to the juvenile's speed, they allowed the Chevrolet to cross over the solid double yellow lines entering the eastbound lane directly in the path of the Kawasaki. This resulted in a head-on collision with between the Chevrolet and the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was ejected during the collision. Due to the collision, the motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased on scene.

Sacramento, CA...In response to the recent wave of hate incidents targeting Asian Americans, California lawmakers today approved $1.4 million in state funding to bolster the research and reporting work underway that is tracking this concerning trend. The Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus (APILC) lauds the efforts of Assemblymember Phil Ting (D-San Francisco), Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, who secured the appropriation as part of AB 85, a fiscal measure providing additional resources for California’s ongoing pandemic response.

All Covid Positive Jail Inmates Have Recovered & Rehoused |

Sonora, CA...Our previously reported 7 positive cases within the jail have all recovered and since been rehoused with their respective cohorts. This morning, we were made aware of 2 positive cases. The two inmates have been placed in quarantine. All close contacts have tested negative but have been placed in isolation under the direction of public health. We will closely monitor and continue regular testing, while working closely with Tuolumne County Public Health to conduct all track and tracing.
