BOS NEWS....The New Jail has 28 Acres of Land to Call Home

San Andreas, CA....As expected today, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of 28 acres in San Andreas for the home of the New Jail. There have been extensive negotiations over the last few months to reach an agreement on the purchase. The final price has not been disclosed but there has been agreement on an arbitration process to reach a purchase price. The county has agreed to pay at least $1.9 Million. The negotiations have reached the point necessary to allow the grant process to move forward...

Jenny Lind, CA....The MythBusters are making their 5th appearance in Calaveras County to film an upcoming episode. Today's Myth involves testing some scenes from the Caddyshack movies about explosives and gophers. They had us swear a vow of secrecy to protect the outcome of the MythBusting. One of the other reasons we made the trip out to Jenny Lind were they where filming this morning, was to chat with Calaveras County OES Chief, Clay Hawkins about the visit from the MythBuster's Team. Death Investigation at Bear Creek Reservoir Campground

Calaveras County, CA...The Amador County Sheriffs Dept. received a call from a citizen who reported finding a deceased female in the Bear Lake Campground. The citizen stated that the female was in a tent and in a sleeping bag. The Amador County Sheriffs Department responded to the location and determined that this was a rural area of Calaveras County. Calaveras County Detectives responded and took over the investigation. It was determined that the deceased was a 49 year old named Patricia Elizabeth Jaeger....

Official CHP Release on Vehicle Collision That Occurred Last Eve

Mokelumne Hill, CA..The Report is in on this accident we reported on last night. CHP reported a vehicle collision with Ambulance Responding at Hwy 49 and Mokelumne Hill near Wendells Restaurant. Hwy 49 was temporarily closed for approximately 40 minutes. One subject was transported to MTSJ Hospital with chest pain and laceration to chin. It all started when they lost control of their trailer and it started fishtailing out of control behind their Toyota. This forced them down an embankment and into a tree. Arrests Made In Arnold Area Burglery

Arnold, CA...Deputies were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress approximately 4:40pm on Sunday March 9th The reporting party told dispatch there were three suspects that left the area in a dark blue sedan. Deputy Chris Dorsey stopped a vehicle matching the description given in Hathaway Pines. A flat screen television and miscellaneous tools were among the items found in the vehicle...

Arnold, CA...The CHP release is in for the multiple car collision that occurred on Saturday March 9th in the afternoon at Hwy 4 and Pine Drive. Three people suffered minor injuries and were taken to different hospitals. CHP release enclosed....

TRAFFIC NEWS.....Hwy 4 Delayed Due to Injury Accident at Hwy 4 and Pine Drive in Arnold

Arnold, CA...There is a three car vehicle collision at Hwy 4 and Pine Drive in Arnold. There appears to be three parties injured that are being taken to local hospitals. There appears to be two minor and one minor to moderate from what we have been told. Ambulance and CHP are on scene now. Hwy 4 traffic is moving very slow in both lanes and is expected to be delayed for the next hour or so.

Today, March 7th is a BURN DAY in Calaveras County. If you are planning on burning on a parcel of 5 acres of more, you will need a Burn Permit. The fee for this is $12.

Railroad Flat, CA...CHP and Emergency personal are now working an injury accident near Railroad Flat Rd and Old Immigrant Trail. Please use caution in the area. Update from CHP Officer Jaime Castillo. "We had reports of a vehicle roll over with minor injuries. The collision sheared a PG&E power pole at the base and powerlines are blocking the roadway. PG&E, Central Fire Protection District and CHP are on the scene. A Tow truck has been dispatched...

CHP is reporting a Collision with Ambulance Responding at Bergsma Land at Stabulis Road. CHP has just posted an update the a 42 year old adult with a leg injury is being transported to the heliport at the fire station and then will be Medi-Flighted to a still unnamed hospital...
