Lake Alpine, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close State Route 4 beginning Tuesday, September 24, 2019, to Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day for road work. The full closure will be in effect over Ebbetts Pass from the east end of Lake Alpine (gate #2) to Raymond Meadows Creek (closure gate #3- just east of the Silver Creek Campground). Lake Alpine is open and accessible. There is no local detour available.
Collision Left Murphys Man With Major Injuries & Unconscious Last Night Off Sheep Ranch Road

Murphys, CA...A 30 year old Murphys man was driving a Toyota on Sheep Ranch Road northbound at an unknown speed descending a grade at approximately 2330 hours. He allowed his vehicle to drive off the west road edge and down a steep embankment. As the Toyota was on the embankment it overturned causing the left front windshield area to be crushed by a tree. As it overturned the driver was ejected. Both the driver and the Toyota landed at the bottom of an approximately 100 foot ravine. The Toyota came to rest on its roof. The driver lost consciousness for an unknown time. He waited until the sun rose on 9-20-2019 to climb up the hillside to seek assistance. The vehicle was not visible from the roadway.

San Andreas, CA...On September 18th A 25 Year Old from Yorba Linda was traveling southbound in a 2019 Ram at 60 miles per hour on SR-49 north of Howell Road. A Valley Springs woman was traveling southbound in her Acura at 55 miles per hour on SR-49 north of Howell Road to the front of the Ram.

Ione, CA...It is with a heavy heart that the Amador County Sheriff’s Office announces the tragic loss of a member of our family. Retired Sergeant Mark Lawrence was driving to the Amador County Superior Court this morning where he serves as a Court Security Deputy when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Despite the best efforts of the medical responders, Sergeant Lawrence died from his injuries. Sergeant Lawrence was escorted to Daneri Mortuary in a law enforcement procession with allied agency law enforcement officers and fire department members saluting him along the way.
Five Marijuana Grow Sites Eradicated by Calaveras Sheriff's Office

San Andreas, CA...On September 10th,, 2019 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at an address in the 12000 block of Armstrong Road in Sheep Ranch. Deputies eradicated 6,588 growing marijuana plants at an outdoor marijuana growing operation. Two suspects were seen fleeing the scene and, although they were not apprehended, evidence seized from the scene is still being examined and the investigation is ongoing.
Sonora, CA...An intruder caught in the act! Last night, our deputies were called to the 16000 block of Oakhaven Lane in Sonora for reports of a break-in. The perpetrator slyly made his way through the open front door of the home. He did not threaten the resident or steal anything. After being spotted, he tried to make a run for it but ended up cornered in a bathroom. Fish and Wildlife were contacted and assisted our deputies in coaxing the mountain lion out of the second story bathroom window. He did get a stern warning about the break-in before being released.
$69,000 in Cannabis Stolen From Hazy Bulldog Farms Dispensary

Sonora, CA...The Sonora Police Department is asking for the community’s help identifying the suspects who burglarized Hazy Bulldog Farms cannabis dispensary last Wednesday morning. Just after 4:00 am, on September 11th, the Police Department received calls from a passerby and then an alarm company of a burglary in progress at the cannabis dispensary on Mono Way. When officers arrived on scene, they found that a door to the business had been pried open and the interior in disarray. Unfortunately, the suspects had fled the scene prior to the officer's arrival.
