Columbia, CA...Columbia State Historic Park will present “Diggins Tent Town 1852”, their annual living history event this coming May 19th through May 22nd. Sponsored by Friends of Columbia and Columbia State Historic Park and depicted by over 150 costumed volunteers, visitors can experience the events and environment of an 1850’s mining camp that is re-created in detail from the clothing, food and entertainment.

Angels Camp, CA...Studio 4 Dance Theater’s Spring Showcase 2016 will once again thrill the audience as they perform their unique version of the ballet classic “Alice in Wonderland.” The Spring Showcase has only two performances: 7pm, Friday, April 29, and 3pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Bret Harte Theater in Angels Camp, and it’s appropriate for all ages. Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis Town Square – the Castle & Cooke California-owned events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will once again partner with the Lake Tulloch Lions Club to host the 16th-annual “Hot Copper Car Show” on Saturday, May 7. Admission is free to the event which runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hundreds of hot rods, custom cars, motorcycles and boats will be on display throughout the day. Food and drink from area vendors, arts and crafts, live music and more will be part of the festivities.

Mind Matters' Off The Beaten Path Set For April 30th |

Murphys, CA...Off the Beaten Path, the Walk/Run for Autism Awareness will be staged for the fifth year on Saturday, April 30 in Murphys Community Park. The money raised will go to support Mind Matters, the Murphys based non-profit clinic that treats Autism and other learning disorders. The event will feature a 1K run, open to boys and girls aged seven and younger, and two other races, 5K and 10K, open to men and women of all ages. The scenic course will begin at the park and continue on Six Mile Road past rolling hills and beautiful vineyards. Participants who would rather walk than run are welcome to do so. Check-in time will start at 7 a.m. Following a warm-up session, conducted by Kat Juarez-Sutton, the first race will begin at 8 a.m. Awards will be presented in a variety of categories.

Columbia, CA...The Columbia College Community Chorus, conducted by Dr. Daryl Hollinger, will perform its annual Spring concert in the sanctuary of St. Matthew Lutheran Church on Saturday evening, April 23rd, at 7:30 p.m., and again on Sunday afternoon, April 24th, at 3:00 p.m. The first half of this varied spring program features three of Dr. Hollinger's original Psalm settings and the famous Mass in G by Franz Schubert for chorus, soprano, tenor and bass soloists with chamber orchestra. After a short intermission, the 43-member chorus will perform a lively group of well-known choruses from stage and opera: The popular Va, pensiero, from Verdi’s Nabucco, choruses from Borodin’s Prince Igor, Gounod’s Faust, and Verdi’s Il Travatore. A choral medley from Fiddler on the Roof and an audience sing-along from The Sound of Music are also on the program. A special treat will be three songs from Shakespeare's plays set by jazz great George Shearing.
