Jenny Lind, CA....The MythBusters are making their 5th appearance in Calaveras County to film an upcoming episode. Today's Myth involves testing some scenes from the Caddyshack movies about explosives and gophers. They had us swear a vow of secrecy to protect the outcome of the MythBusting. One of the other reasons we made the trip out to Jenny Lind were they where filming this morning, was to chat with Calaveras County OES Chief, Clay Hawkins about the visit from the MythBuster's Team. Calaveras County, CA...The theme of the Calaveras County Fair & Frog Jumping Jubilee is "Heard it Through the Bovine." Through the theme, the fair is celebrating reading. To this end, the fair is rewarding students for reading. Young students will get credit for having a parent, grandparent or friend read to them; older students must do independent reading. The program began on March 1st and will end April 15th, 2008. The completed reading log is to be turned into the fair grounds office. Students just record.....

San Andreas, CA… The fabulous student actors from both Toyon Middle School and Calaveras High School have put on a wonderful play production “Seussical” after the creative Dr. Seuss book Horton Hear a Who. The play tells the story of Horton the Elephant who, on the fifteenth of May in the Jungle of Nool, hears a small speck of dust talking to him. It turns out the speck of dust is actually a tiny planet, home to a city called "Who-ville", inhabited by microscopic-sized inhabitants known as Whos……
