Murphys Rolled Out The Red Carpet For Locals & Visitors During Their Open House (Updated With Slide Show Link)

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/15/2016 02:08 PM
Murphys, CA...Every year on the first Friday in December, Murphys celebrates the start of the holiday season with a community Open House from 5 to 8 pm on Historic Main Street. Admission is free, the streets are closed to traffic and we are ready to celebrate the winter holidays. A favorite of locals, the annual event is an old-fashioned celebration featuring a parade, holiday treats and entertainment hosted by Main Street merchants, restaurants, wineries and the Murphys Business Association. Musicians and carolers fill the streets with the sounds of the seasons, Santa arrives with the parade and stays for photos with the kids in the Native Sons Hall...

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/14/2016 04:03 PM
Murphys, CA....Forest Meadows..On 12/12/16 at about 3:00 P.M., The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 7 year old juvenile male that was contacted by a suspicious person near the intersection of Sugar Bush Lane and Azalea Court in Forest Meadows. The 7 year old reported that he was walking home alone from a school bus stop when a white car pulled alongside of him. The driver talked to the juvenile through an open window and told him that he knew the boy’s father and asked him to get into the vehicle. The juvenile asked the driver for his father’s name. Hey Good People!! Five Inches Of New Snow For Bear Valley! Bear Valley Update By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/11/2016 10:58 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 5"of new in 24hrs!! Clear skies are here this morning in the wake of the passing system. We picked up 5" at the base area and 6" at the summit. Temps rose again around 6pm last night and the snowfall turned back to rain for a few hours before pushing out East. Today looks to be a sunny day as the next system readies it's approach. The high today will be around 39F and a low of 29F tonight. Monday brings a return of snow but that shouldn't arrive until mid day or so.

Hey Good People Temps Are Dropping & Snow Is Falling! ~ Bear Valley Update By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/10/2016 08:58 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Another day of warm temps ahead. The last 48hrs has been mostly rain but that looks to change later tonight as some cooler temps will try to inject themselves into the area. The high for today is slated to be 44F and breezy with variable winds from the mid teens into the low 30's. If things align for us here in BV we could maybe pick up 1-2" of snow tonight but that's an outside chance at this time. Sunday is the temp change and we could see snowfall during the later half of the day and Sunday night could bring 2-4" before another possible pool of warm air arrives. Things are looking much better for the coming week with snow expected as the warm air mass that has been bothering us all will head East and make way for what looks like some decent snow through the week and possibly into next weekend...
