Copperopolis, CA...The “Hot Copper Car Show” – one of the region’s largest car shows – was held May 4 in the Copperopolis Town Square. More than 300 cars from hot rods and classics to unique sports cars from throughout northern California were featured in the show. A great experience for auto enthusiasts and families, it was sponsored by the Lake Tulloch Lions Club...

| Arnold, CA... Ebbetts Pass is now open. The high country lakes are still partially frozen, but some of creeks are fish-able. Camping will still be limited to disperse camping as they have still not opened most campgrounds, but are due to open between now and Memorial Day. Murphys, CA..To help kick-off the summer tourism season, the Calaveras Visitors Bureau (CVB) hosted a luncheon featuring guest speaker Rick Mears, VP of Guest Services for the San Francisco Giants. Mears, who is entering his 15th season with the Giants (the 2010 and 2012 World Series Champions), discussed the key elements for providing a great customer service experience. He brought 35 years of experience and a World Series Ring to the speech and gave useful examples...

Studio 4 Dance's Spring Showcase Danced Before Sold Out Crowds |

Angels Camp, CA...Another Ballet Classic Came to Calaveras as Studio 4 Dance Theater Spring Showcase Featuring “Sleeping Beauty’s Wedding” played May 3-4, in Angels Camp. It was an ambitious mix of classic ballet, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance, featuring original choreography to familiar classical and popular music. There were 28 dancers, all students at Studio 4 School of Dance. The show also featured solo dances like Candace Collum's tribute to her fallen friends Alex and Macaila Marshall....
