Saturdays in Murphys - Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Murphys are available at no charge (donations gratefully accepted) on Saturday mornings at 10am leaving from the Old Timers Museum. Murphys, CA...Celebrate our nation’s Independence Day with an old-fashioned Independence Day concert by the Calaveras Community Band in beautiful Murphys Park on Algiers Street, Monday, July 3rd at 6:30 PM. The Band will play patriotic favorites, marches, swing and popular tunes from the past under the baton of conductor Mic Harper.

Poor Man’s Whiskey has evolved into a ragged, spontaneous beast pulling from equally deep wells of story-telling originals, expertly crafted covers and zany on-stage shenanigans. PMW has released 6 studio albums and have a stunning repertoire to choose songs from creating a new show every night. In addition to their upbeat original sets Poor Man’s Whiskey have developed special late night “tribute sets” with their original bluegrass/americana twists which include “Dark Side of the Moonshine” (bluegrass interpretation of the classic Pink Floyd album) , “Graceland” (tribute to the classic Paul Simon album), “Old and In the Way”, “Tribute to Allman Brothers Band”, and “Tribute to Kate Wolf”. Arnold, CA...Hazel Fischer Elementary Parents Club has brought back The Firecracker Mile! This "mile" race through Arnold will kick off the Annual 4th of July Parade. Runners and walkers welcome! July 1st, 2017 9:30 a.m. at the bottom of the Arnold Byway No parking at the race start. Catch the shuttle at Cedar Center at 8:00 and 8:30.
