Mokelumne Hill, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce along with the Mokelumne Hill Merchants will be hosting the 6th Annual Wine on Main on October 14th, 2017 from 3pm till 6pm pm on Main Street in Mokelumne Hill. This event is sponsored by the Chamber Champions Mark Twain Medical Center, Calaveras County Fairgrounds, Adventist Health Sonora, Hunt & Sons, CalTel, Sierra Pacific Industries, Mark Twain Health Care District, AT&T and Senders Market.

Murphys, CA...The 24th Annual Calaveras Grape Stomp is in the books. After rounds and rounds of heats, semi finals and then the grand finals The Mucker Truckers were crowned as the 2017 Stomp Champions with 19.60lbs of Juice. Broll Mountain Vineyards & Sushi and Waswabi were the top three. Cluster Busters 2, Flat Nasty, Cork Fungus Fairies, L'Amateur, Chico Crushers & Hatcher Winery all stomped in the finals.(Over 70 Photos in the Enclosed Photo Album)

Call now 209/754-0127 or visit https://calaveraswinealliance.ticketspice.com/grape-stomp-entry-form to register your team and celebrate one of the most anticipated events in the region, drawing large, loud crowds and scores of stomp teams, many festooned in original costume. If coming in costume, you must register in costume but you need not stomp in costume. Costumes are judged on originality, workmanship, etc. Registration entry fee is $70 per team of two. Besides partaking of the usual great food, wine, Raffle Tickets for either a New Zealand or Australia Wine Experince will be sold all day and a silent auction takes place throughout the day, with live auction on stage, Stomp goers witnessed another fierce competition between teams vying for the title of the Calaveras Grape Stomp Champion. Stomp Teams are composed of two persons, one inside a half barrel filled with 25 pounds of grapes, another outside the barrel reaching in to ensure a smooth flow of juice out the drain spot. Exhibition runs October 8 through November 26, 2017 At Petroglyphe Gallery 8317 Main Street, Mokelumne Hill Crossing California, Sierra to the Sea is a celebration of Dale Laitinen's favorite places seen while crisscrossing the great state of California. Laitinen states, "Twenty years ago my wife and I chose Mountain Ranch, uprooting home, studio, family and pets to a beautiful place tucked away in Calaveras County. The now infamous Butte Fire swept through our area and destroyed all that we had built for those years. Crossing California is a rising from the ashes exhibit as a way of moving forward from catastrophe."
Area Players Encouraged to Enter MACTA Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament

Murphys, CA...Tennis players from throughout the Motherlode are invited to sign up for the Murphys Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA) Mixed Doubles Tournament to be held Saturday, October 14th at Bret Harte High School, in Angels Camp, and MACTA’s Wintercreek Facility located behind the historic schoolhouse on Jones St. in Murphys. Entry deadline is October 11th, but those interested in taking part are encouraged to enter as soon as possible.
